The forests beneath the Razorwing Pass had long been protected by the Sylvanaeth of the Verdant Song, the Thornmasterr Illar Doombark tending the trees against the beasts of Ghur. From the wind which howled down, the Pass brought the sound of Orruk chants and cries and the Sylvanaeth readied to defend their sacred glades.
At the head of the Ironjaw Waagh, two mighty warbosses, Borgok and Gladslik, rode ahead of the oncoming Orruks bellowing insults across at each other. As they crashed through the outer brush of the trees, they were immediately set upon Dryads and Kurnoth hunters from unseen places – as well as the mighty Doombark. The Mawcrusha mounts of the two warbosses were felled under a torrent of bark and claw – but not before they inflicted a severe toll on the Sylvanaeth.
The Ironjaws found themselves cut off from the power of Gorkamorka, and their shaman Skubag Rottooth found it impossible to draw that power to the battle. It was this refusal of Gorkamorka to aid the Ironjaws which sealed their fate, and although Rottooth was able to flee to build a new waagh, the pass fell silent as the last of the Orruks was slain and the Sylvanaeth held their vigil over the pass once more.
