Soaring on the aetheric currents which race through the Razorwing Pass, Navigator Bundrok ordered the Arkanaut Skyvessels to approach the ground – lest they draw the attention of the pass’s avian inhabitants. The ships descended towards the ground and off in the distance Bundrok could see there was an Orruk encampment far up the rocky slopes – activating his magnifying lenses he zoomed in to see that it was Ironjawz and they had a Mawcrusha. Signalling to the other ships that they needed to use the rocks as cover to get into position to blast the great beast before it was able to take flight and smash their Endrins.
A blast of thunder shook the Orruks out of their complacency and rushing for their choppas and stabbas they charged towards the sound of the Kharadron guns. But for the Mawcrusha and their Boss, there was little to be done the precise aim of the Arkanaut fire had laid low both. In a fury, the Orruks raced towards the Kharadron ships slashing and hacking up at the ships as they tried to gain altitude and smashing any Duardin unlucky enough to get in their way.
The lead frigate of the Kharadron force was the Brightstar, and from its deck Navigator Bundrok and the Endrinmaster Efrik signalled to the rest of the fleet. But as the damage from the Orruks began to pile up the vessel was in trouble. Trying to gain altitude but with too many Ironjawz weighing down the rear of the ship it began to fall, scrambling to hold on the last the Arkanauts saw of its valiant crew as well as Bundrok and Efrik was a fireball which engulfed the ship as its magazine was caught and ignited the ship.
Though at great cost the surviving Arknauts and Frigates were able to destroy or route the remaining Ironjawz, claiming the pass for the forces of Order so that they may resupply more easily. The wreckage of the Brightstar being a memorial for the cost for the Kharadrons in their contracts with the forces of Sigmar. The war was not going well but it was through small victories like this that gave Order hope of victory.
