The lands surrounding the Feral Spire were filled with myriad beasts of the realm of Ghur. It created a haven for the forces fighting for control of these benighted realms. The warboss Grunkspot led his warband up into the rich hunting grounds to recoup from the ceaseless war. The Orruk respite was to be interrupted however as the patrolling forces of the Stormcast Eternals also had the idea to head to the Realm Gate and resupply before proceeding to Ulgu. Alerius Morningstrike spotted the Orruk’s making camp and prepared his forces.
Both armies had time to form up their battlelines beneath the Spire. Roaring and charging down the hill Grunkspot had reminded his boyz to secure the supplies of the Stormcast as they’d be needed in the fighting to come. Massive Brutes sliced their choppas into the gilded armour of the Azyrites. Blasts of lightning flicked along the line as they ascended back to the heavens. Then came the counter charge – Alerius ordering a lockstep response, glowing hammers cracked upon the Orruks’ skulls laying them low.
Fighting continued along the line for many hours until there were so few left. Alerius looked to his companions and rallied for one last charge. With the sacrifice of almost the entire host, the Stormcast cast down Grunkspot and his warband. Quickly the battlefield was filled with scavengers and the Stormcast proceeded to withdraw with what little supplies they could carry. Leaving the Realmgate poorly defended but tentatively in the control of Order for now…
