Rising through the mountains towards the great city of Barilomm is the Gilded Way, an ancient thoroughfare of unparalleled importance. That is what led the Nurgle Lord Torshmal there, or rather it is what brought his bloated mount, Petunia to the pathway. Her gleeful mewling encouraging the followers of Torshamal towards the road that would become their garden. Filled with the most corrupting of pathogens the forces of the Maggotkin marched up the Gilded Way, well away it would draw out retribution.
From their lookout posts along the roadway, the Blood Sisters of Ashnireth watched the oncoming chaotic filth and could see they had left their supply train badly defended in their march up the road. With a silent order to her sisters, the Daughters of Khaine began to rush from their hidden positions into the rear of the Nurgle forces. As they did Torshaml smiled and petted Petunia as she let out a gurgled burp and a dense cloud of spores filled the air. Behind them, the Daughters cut into the Maggotkin only to find the same spore released from the slain corpses.
It quickly became clear that the Maggotkin had been expecting the ambush and the ordered ranks of Blightkings as well as the monstrous Petunia turned back into the ranks of the Aelves and began hacking them – just as they were feeling the effects of the spores. The battle was over brutishly quickly and the few surviving Daughters retreated back to Barilomm to inform its inhabitants that the gateway was now under the control of the forces of Nurgle – and the walkway now eroding into a plague garden.
