Sounds a bit like the guys ran into a Spawn with a mark of Nurgle or some kind of beast of Nurgle. The description of vegetation, spores, and the smell makes me think of Nurgle's garden/swamp in the lore and the description certainly doesn't sound like anything Genestealer or Tyranid related.

Even if all of them had been armed with guns and/or melee weapons they likely would have struggled against such a foe and had a party wipe. After all Josh missed more than half of his shots and he is actually relatively proficient with guns. With the combat rules, more guys with poor skill shooting with others in melee too would likely end up getting other party members shot.

In some ways this reminds me a bit of the Korean zombie movie that came out just a few years ago "Train from Busan" in that the characters are not unified at all and are often at cross purposes, when survival depends heavily on team cohesion. It doesn't help that often many on the team are unable to even act due to bad rolls or ill-timed rolls. In that film I mentioned nearly everyone dies from betrayals, bad decisions, selfishness, or cowardice, partly because no common schmo is really prepared to do something heroic or has the necessary skills to fight or truly command and inspire people.

It will be interesting to see what transpires next episode as short of a Deus Ex Machina, like that whole battle was a hallucination, 2/5's of the party is now dead with the battlefield having been abandoned by the other 3. Quirk's and Steve's wounds don't sound like something that could be healed as Quirk has been disemboweled and Steve lost an arm in addition to other wounds. Sounds like they will be rolling new characters or there are just three left now pinned between a Spawn and likely the Astra Militarum cleansing the hab block's disease infestation with flame.

By the way, if you like zombie films, check out Train to Busan. It is subtitled in English and other languages and is really quite good.

well its kinda steves fault... dave and luka couldnt fight, maybe they should've regrouped first. with josh firing a auto salvo once everyone passed him... but then they were all kinda insane and frightened.

i really enjoyed the roleplaying of the staff. added alot to this campaign!

I wanted Quirk to stop trying to kill Luka, but not like this, NOT LIKE THIS!

Steve died a hero though.

So good! XD So sad. That was...epic. Between Lourd's crazy and Festus's...Festusness, I think T'Nek just snapped.

It's good stuff.

Personally, my money is on Tzeentch. Yeah, I know. Everything screams Nurgle...but everything is screaming nurgle a little *too* much.

It's the signum. Two T's stacked on top of each other.

Interesting theory. And poor T'Nek. At least Luka finally pronounced his name correctly.

I am shocked that Steve and his famously weak stomach didn't throw up when Dave said that T'Nek's toilet brush had skin on it and kept eating it.

I do very much hope that somebody makes a Space Marine chapter called the Gothic Space Rats.

Yes, they were lost in one of the cursed foundings and return from the warp as a noble, but misunderstood chapter suffering from a curse similar to the Wulfen, but instead have skaven heads and tails.

Now that they are back in their hab block, the characters must find out what the heck is going on, and what they need to do next.

Blue Collar Heresy is the tale of a bunch of factory workers who go through a bit of a horrible series of events and try to survive. We use the Dark Heresy 2nd Edition rules for this series, with some modifications to the character creation rules to represent ordinary guys just trying to keep on living.
