I enjoy you guys trying to do different ways of fighting 30k. If you are interested in doing more like this perhaps a mini campaign with xenos and legions I would suggest maybe doing a Ullanor mini-campaign with Orks vs. SM Legions. Since most of the legions fought at Ullanor you may be able to have allied legions on one side and then the Ork player can have some rules to represent the massive size of the Ullanor Ork army so perhaps 60 boyz size mobs instead of 30 (and cheaper boyz to encourage a green tide like list) and revised mob rule that assists with morale with these huge mobs. Essentially play around with the Ork codex like you just did with the sisters of battle to give them more of a 30k flavor.

In any event, I support any battle reports that try to do something different with the 30k rule set. Keep up the great work.

For the burning chariot, you can measure range for the weapons from any part of the base, even if it is the rider who fires the weapon.
Also you can only use either blue or pink fire of tzeentch as it is the rider who has it and he is infantry, so can't fire more than 1 weapon...

Interesting house rules for the Sisters of Silence, very fluffy I liked them. I'd like to see this battle done again after Book 7: Inferno comes out when the SoS will actually get their own rules at last.

That was a one sided slaughterfest but i'm not sure were it went wrong. The SoS with flamers and meltas feel like they should have had a chance but... I don't know.

Just in the pre game show the numbers for the Cult was so much more than the SoS, I had a feeling this would happen.

I really prefer it when you mix in other factions into 30K. Marines vs marines gets tedious, really quick.

Actually, I did miss something - the Discipline Master Cadre and Platoon Command Squad can take a single Provenance since they have the Provenance special rule. The Rogue Psyker doesn't, though, so the list is still missing a Force Commander.

How, though? The Muster of Worlds is only a special rule for the Force Commander, and that's how you take a Provenance. Each Provenance is taken as a unit upgrade for a unit with that special rule, and none of the other HQs have The Muster of Worlds.

I can't find anything else in the army list that indicates how you would take a Provenance of War via some other mechanic. It doesn't make a lot of sense as an abstraction that you tack on to the list like a Chapter Tactic - it's an upgrade that you have to actually spend points on.

Either I'm missing something obvious or you need to take a Force Commander.

Also, since reading my own comment makes me realize it comes off as rather negative I just wanna say that lists like Imperialis Militia and Cults and Questoris Knights are really cool parts of 30k and you shouldn't feel bad about bringing them instead of Legiones Astartes... although in the case of the Knights list be careful about the power level - 30k Knights are brutal! One nice thing about both is that you can use 40k models for most of their stuff, whereas Mechanicum Taghmata and Solar Auxilia have their own models for just about everything.

Anyway, keep on keeping on, it's great to see so many people finally giving Horus Heresy the attention it deserves!

You can't take a Provenance without taking a Force Commander. That's how you pay for it - they're not free. Without him your list is not even remotely legal.

You could still bring that list, but you'd need to pay the 85 points for the Force Commander with Tainted Flesh and make him your Warlord. It's worth upgrading him more than that, of course (20 points and you can pick your warlord trait rather than rolling!) but an extra 85 points is the bare minimum to make your army legal.

Matt, the Exhaulted flamer has to snap-fire if you move the flamming chariot as both his shooting weapons are heavy and he doesn't have Slow and Purposeful or Relentless.

I realy like the sisters of silence, and I also liked the report. Despite the obvious loss they were going to get. Sisters just don't have a the power to stand up to close combat armies like daemons, orks or nids. I'd think they would do a little better against marines, more targets for all that melta.

Also chariots can't be immobilized, as when they are immobilized it iz automatically downgraded to crew stunned for 1 turn

Jink gives you the cover save until the start of their next movement phase, you do not loose it if you get immobilized after jinking.
