Result: Major Victory for Soulblight

Summary

Towering above the realms below the silent walls of Nulburak dominate the skyline from any approach. But from the realm of Ulgu, there is a darkening haze which suffuses off the battlements adding a further sinister aspect to the city. The Warband led by the Stormcast Eternal Torba had found a hidden postern gate that both mortal human and immortal Azyrite were able to cross into and begin to scout out the city in the hopes of revealing its secrets for the forces of Order. However high in the air behind them silhouetted against the moonlight a bat-like shape peered down at the snaking line of Order’s forces – it dashed back to tell its master, the ancient and vile Vampire Lord Ghaler von Nachtschloss. Moving his vast Zombie Dragon mount he called to his many winged servants and they headed off to find where this pathetic gathering had entered.

         Stormcast and humans searched the buildings for any clue as to what had befallen Nulbaruk. After only a few days of investigation and some mysterious disappearances, the sky above them began to darken. Not the umbral shade of that was typical of the realm of Ulgu but instead dozens, hundreds of tiny flying shapes blotted out the light, and in their midst was an enormous undead dragon. Torba shouted to the assembled forces of order, Soulblight was upon them, trust to Sigmar.

         Fell Bats descended on the mortal humans and Stormcast slaying dozens, bright bolts shooting back to Azyr. Then came the other forces of undeath and a great melee broke out in a common chosen to defend from the dozens of streets that opened onto it. The fighting went back and forth as the Vampiric monstrosities and minions smashed aside so many mortal lives, in return the undead were humbled. But it began to become clear that the Soublight had the entire area surrounded and there was but one hope that the few survivors could get out of the city if they conceded ground. Torba knew that the undead were relentless and ordered the survivors to get out of the city any way they could and bring a warning to the forces of Order. The Ulgu entrance to Nulbaruk had been taken by the forces of Nagash. They were one step closer to unleashing whatever secrets were locked away in this accursed place…
