Summary
Ulgu's mists smother the Ghostfall Wasteland as the bold raiders of the Firepelt Horde plunge through the Realmgate from Aqshy. Finding nought but silent emptiness, they searched for any settlement with plunder to take. Eventually, they stumbled upon an abandoned hamlet far on the edge of the waste. Drognon the Ambitious ordered the Darkoath Queen Velachi to investigate the village. As the forces began to separate, that was when the first cries went out. The Legion of Night was here.
From Drognon's vantage point, two enormous decaying wings covered the ruined buildings as a Zombie dragon descended on the hapless marauders. As the zombies clawed from the ground and the Vampire Lord Melachian tore through the chaos horde. In the frenzy of combat, the Darkoath Queen was singled out by the Chaos gods; just as the last marauder fell and she fell to one knee clutching a spear haft in her leg, she felt her body swell with the power of Chaos. Ripping into reality was a new Daemon Prince, and the mortal realms will tremble at her strength.
As the ambush unfolded, one of Melachian's underlings, Baron Tredvar, led a distracting cohort of skeletons into the main marauder force. Challenging the Drognon to single combat, foolishly perhaps. The arrogant vampire inflicted many vicious blows but none fatal to the Chaos Lord, and in return, he embedded deep gouges in the vampire – some that would not heal even empowered with death magic. But eventually, in the hordes of skeletons, a rogue rusted sword made it through Drognon's armour, and he was slain. The Legion of Night drove the remaining chaos worshipers from the field, and the Ghostfall Wasteland was once again the silent domain of death.
