Ever since the Chaos fortress of Ashenhold fell to the Ogors of Destruction warbands of Chaos had been doing everything they could to undo that humiliation. The Daemon Prince Farbasmal the Everpungent had gathered his warbands for one such attempt to retake their strongholds in Aqshy. This time however they would approach the city of Ashenhold from the Molten Lake – aiming to take the Ogor forces by surprise. Marching relentlessly through the burning rivers, and the blistering heat the forces of Nurgle made their relentless advance through the deadly lake.
Frostlord Fjalstrom led his Eurlbad around the shores of the Molten Lake, far from the normal winds of the Everwinter. But suddenly a chill breeze shot across the boiling lava, the Ogors following its path saw the oncoming Nurgle warband and their blood rushed – finally a fight. The Mournfang and Stonehorn rushed into position ready to charge down the assembling Chaos Warriors. Fjalstrom atop his stonehorn glowered down at the Daemon Prince martialling the ruinous powers and bellowed to his fellow Ogors that the first one to take the Daemon’s head feasts with him that evening. Suddenly a blast of unnatural cold blew into the lake freezing the boiling rivers instantly. The Everwinter was here and even Aqshy would be cooled.
Beasts of immense power smashed across the now stoney surface taking the Nurgle worshipers completely unawares with their speed and ferocity. Stonehorns ground up Chaos Plate and Ogors skewed human warriors from the backs of their Mournfang. The battle was over before it started and what little remained of Farbsmal’s forces quickly broke against the onslaught of the forces of Destruction. The Everwinter was howling through the Lake’s basin empowering the Beastclaws onward until every last Nurgle follower was either dead or dying. Chaos would not find it so easy to reclaim their old stronghold in Aqshy – it seems as though even with the fires burning the Everwinter has the realm in its grasp…
