Rust-covered walls, metallic soot in the air, the entrance to Nulbaruk from the realm of Chamon. Chaos Lord Halborok rode ahead of his war host on a fearsome chaotic Karkadrak. Behind him the ranks of chaos warriors and their servants snaked into the city, now becoming a hive of warbands clawing out enclaves within the walls for their various paymasters. Now would be the time for Chaos to take its rightful place as the master of Nulbaruk. Its secrets are to be used for the glory of the great gods.
Marching into the narrow streets Halborok first smelt the oncoming danger and then saw it. Making a nest in some of the more badly damaged houses an enormous herd of Troggs blocked the oncoming chaos warhost’s path. The creatures of destruction looking for whatever trinkets they could find in the rubble – seemingly distracted by meaningless tasks. Halborok took it as a sign that they could sweep away the inept brutes without challenge. Ordering his fellow warriors forward to charge the Troggs and move on further into the city.
Spearheading the attack Halborok charged ahead of his warriors into the oncoming Troggs – their clubs raised high. His hubris was met with fists and stones as the lumbering creatures simply smashed aside the chaos lord and his Karkadrak. The rest of the line erupted into a melee, the sorcerer Vostoros trying to coordinate the disparate warbands into a cohesive force. Quickly it became apparent that the Troggs were being enhanced by some otherworldly power. The leering face of the Bad Moon came into view over the city – its cursed light ushering in the gloomspite and causing the Troggs to rush with increased vigour and vitality.
Smashing and crashing through armour forged by the finest smiths as if it were nothing it was all but impossible for the warriors of Chaos to advance from the onslaught of Destruction. The eerie yellow light of the Bad Moon began to seep into every corner of the city no matter where the warriors of Chaos sought to reform more Troggs seemed to crawl from buildings where they had not yet been. The defeat quickly turned to a route and Vostoros’s surviving warriors were driven from the city – a pitiful sight in the eyes of the gods following Halborok’s weakness. He was lucky the Troggs had crushed him for if the gods had found him after such folly, surely, spawndom would have beckoned. Settling into their new Troglodytic home, the buildings sprouted mushrooms and the entire city around the herd became danker. Destruction was rapidly securing the city of Nulbaruk and it was becoming hard to shift the ever-increasing numbers of Grots, Orruks and Troggs from the city’s walls.
