Result: Major Victory for Nighthaunt

Summary

After the seizure of the Chamonese realm gate by the Necromancer Andrad Thisvald the forces of Tzeentch intended to take back the gate for the interests of the great deceiver. Marching at the behest of the Tzeentchian cult known as the Noniverate, Kalagar Thrallguise had raised a large force of cultists and summoned a great host of Tzaangors to his army. But such a gathering had not gone unnoticed by Thisvald’s master at the Midnight Scholarium – a coven of secretive necromancers located near the Ironvein Mines.

         The master of spirits of the accursed cabal, Voivonox learning of the approaching Tzeentchian army summoned an emerald host to deal with the interlopers. Thrallguise saw a remote mountain path that would bring the Tzeentchian forces around behind the undead which had begun to fortify the Lake of Brass. The cunning manoeuvre was however watched by the spirits summoned by Voivonox and their advance was shadowed by death until the time to strike was ripe.

         At a bend between the highest peaks, the Nighthaunt launched their attack towards the unprepared and unaware Tzeentian forces. With a single blow fully half of the marching force was struck dead. With little left and no ability to mount an effective assault on the realm gate the remaining few cultists fled wherever they could. Their summoning complete the Nighthaunt were dragged back into the earth their brief release was cut short, the hills were left lifeless. Tzeentch had now been humiliated twice by the Midnight Scholarium and the forces of death’s fortune could change. After all who could avoid the fateweaver’s ambition? Now Death had to fortify the Ironvein mines or surely the Lord of Change would strike once more?
