The Chaos gods were beginning to grow desperate to gain access to the city of Nulbaruk’s secrets. The incompetence of Lord Halborok had ruined their chances to invade Nulbaruk from Chamon but they were not deterred. There were always more Chaos Lords vying for power and in the realm of Aqshy Brekbel the Ironfist was chosen to launch another attack on the city. This time the lord brought massive chaos beasts as well as his most able warriors – the chaos gods would not accept failure.
Inside the increasingly ruined Aqshy portions of Nulbaruk, the Orruks had constructed a new and powerful camp from which to explore the city proper. The Orruk warboss Farbag was tired of looking for trinkets under the ruins and was desperate for a good fight, and there is nothing worse than a bored Orruk. It was one such sullen moment when a grot lookout rushed back towards the camp yelling that there was a band of spikey boys on their way into the city. His spirits lifted in an instant Farbag summoned his warhost and quickly rushed out of the camp towards the oncoming forces of Chaos.
The Orruks rushed from the shelter of alleys and collapsed buildings towards the Chaos lines. Ardboys and Brutes hacking down the many marauders marching alongside Brekbel’s elite warriors. But when the Orruks engaged the warriors, their weapons seemed useless. The chosen of the Chaos gods, Brekbel’s elite had a sworn duty to take the city in the name of the four gods and they would not fail in their task – least of all to Orruks. At the height of the fighting, a Fomoroid ripped a piece of masonry from one of the nearby buildings and hurtled it towards Farbag striking him dead. As the warboss fell so too did any hope of the Orruk victory.
With callous efficiency, the warriors of Brekbel hacked down any stragglers they could find destroying the Orruk camp and scattering the survivors to the vast metropolis. Brekbel had earned a great deal of favour from the gods today and Chaos now had a foothold in the city for what would come to pass in the future. There would be no peace for Order, Destruction or Death and Chaos would triumph in this quarter of the city before spreading across the others. The war for Nulbaruk is still in earnest and its fate hangs in the balance between the great struggle, but now it is unveiled… what secret dwells within its centre?
