Result: Major Victory for Slaves to Darkness

Summary

Deep within the Cinderfields was a region filled with geysers, hissing and spraying constantly – but these were no ordinary jets, they launched blood, not water. The rocks around were stained with red ichor and on those stained flats the Warclan of Warboss Nungrik met Orgath Rustwake's personal Nurgle warband, the others he had sent out to distract and mislead his enemies and allow him to strike with ruthless efficiency. As soon as the Chaos warriors came into view the Orruks bellowed and charged – this would be a brutal day.

Choppas hacked and Stabbas pierced, but it was the fearsome might of the Goregunta charge that almost broke the Chaos lines. Boar fur, sweat and a feral charge heralded the oncoming stampede and quickly the Chosen of Chaos moved up in the lines to meet them. Lowering their jagged weapons ready to skewer the greatest of the Chaos ranks. When they hit the Chosen sidestepped to blunt their charge – though even with such a cunning manoeuvre many were still felled by tusk and Orruk. Their retaliation after the impact was weathered was brutal, stepping back into their lines with legion-like precision they took to slicing and bludgeoning the now isolated Goregruntas and their riders. All the chants and cheers of the Orruks behind nought against the power of Nurgle’s gifts.

The remaining Orruks under Nungrik’s command let out a mighty Waagh and began to charge down the slope towards the reforming Chaos lines. However, the cursed magic of the sorcerers of Rustwake’s cabal began to sap and drain the energy from the Orruks. Their momentum quickly burned up and they found themselves fiercely outmatched by the disciplined warriors of Rustwake’s warbands. Hacked to pieces the forces of Chaos took the day his iron-handed command creating a new foothold for Chaos in the realm of Aqshy.
