Along the winding glistening planes that surrounded the Transumation Riverways the forces of Khorne were pursuing their quarry, the cursed necromantic school known as the Midnight Scholarium. This time however was different, the forces of Chaos were dangerously close to the Scholarium’s outer territory and if their location was discovered the school would not be able to withstand a full-frontal chaotic assault. Instead, the Vampire Lord Abelard de Morttor lead his undead dragon and knightly retinue out from the fortress school to challenge chaos directly.
After dispatching the raiding party of Khornite worshipers the Vampiric army had spilled so much blood that rifts began to open and the forms of Daemons began to rip themselves into reality. Withdrawing as the daemons formed into battlelines led by enormous Bloodthirsters de Morttor knew to charge now would be folly. Moving the skeletons forward to secure the ridge which overlooked the river the forces of Undead held the strategic position. The Khorrnite forces however heeded no textbook battle plan instead rushing to meet the undead hordes – Bloodletters hacking their way through skeletons.
Once the forces of Khorne were committed however de Morttor led his Blood knights in a furious countercharge. Slaughtering the lesser daemons and taking the fight to the mighty Bloodthirsters. However, the fury of Khorne is not so easily subdued and the Bloodthirsters with bestial fury returned to the melee in a glorious duel de Morttor slew many of the lesser daemons but it was the lucky strike from a Bloodthirster axe which buried the Vampire Lord under his dragon. The remaining Blood knights seeing their leader felled retreated towards the Scholarium to prepare what defences they could. Chaos had won in the winding rivers of Chamon but there was still a great many necromancers who challenged their rule over this realm.
