Dudes that was painful. Like the kind of pain you see when rolling exactly what you don't want at the worst possible time.

Mark of Tzeentch gives plus 1 to invunerables, Daemon of Tzeentch re-rolls saving throws of 1

Next time put a squad of your all frost claw Wulfen in that Stormwolf flyer, they're just too squishy to footslog up the board. It's the perfect transport for them to assualt anywhere on the board turn 2. Put 2 or 3 TH/SS on the other squad and you've still got 2-3 models with dual claws and a lot more survivability and better MC/vehicle killy-ness. Even if you lose the TH/SS guys before they get to hit, at range they did their job soaking shots and in combat they still get to hit cause Wulfen.

This was a great battle report; I was rooting for the Space Wolves but damn, those failed charges and the dominate really turned the tide of the game.

Steve, don't forget that all your vehicles come with searchlights as part of their standard loadout, don't be such a defeatist when it comes to night fighting, just snap shot your rhino's into stuff and light them up, especially if you are going 2nd.

Another thing to keep in mind is that chaos Champions are ALWAYS veteran sergeants that ALWAYS have both close combat weapons and pistols as well as bolters, although you still have only 2 attacks with a lightning claw or fist. Chosen are in the same boat(effectively being a unit of champions, without character etc.), so they have 3 attacks base for future reference.

@GlutenFree & DanielTMU, VotLW gives plus 1 leadership and hatred: Space marines, which includes space wolves. But not Hatred: Armies of the Imperium, that is a Black Legion/Black crusade detachment thing.

It also works on vehicles which Steve forgot once or twice.

As others have mentioned, soul blaze was completely overlooked. You also may want to consider using the Daemonforge special rule for the Helldrake at times, it wouldn't have made a difference this battle, but I like it for when you absolutely have to kill a unit.

Overall a great battle report though, with uncharacteristically little cheating! Keep up the great work!

Vector strike against a ground target is 1 hit. But against another flyer (Which the stormwolf is) its d3 hits. You stil have by far the least errors Steve, keep up the good work!

@Krothu, Steve Jinked with his daemon prince to get a 4+ cover save. I think that had you confused.

Naughty Steve, scoring that last objective 2 when it was number 12, a legion specific mission card
ltmarcos (4 months ago): - delete
@Kovlovsky I mentioned that to Steve off camera and he looked it up because he was convinced they were S4. In the end it made no difference

@GoreFather No, that is my wife Nova.

Dude random question but is that girl in the background name's natalie?.
Kovlovsky (4 months ago): - delete
41:17 I believe that normal frag grenades are only S3 and not S4 like frag missiles. So it would have wounded on 5s.

@redAngle Daemon Princes cannot get marks of Chaos. They instead have to take the Daemon of X god special rule. It's allowed to do this with all legions that normally forbid to take marks of Chaos.

Are you sure daemon princes can be part of a iron legion detachment, it says in my book you cant take any character with a mark of chaos.

You could also try putting those blood claws in drop pods, you'd be able to drop them close enough to your TH/SS Wulfen to buff them. Wouldn't be able to take 15 but you still get 10, or take two drop pods of them. It would also let you drop both Venerables in first turn and save the Blood Claws for when your Wulfen get into combat.

Steve,

Turn 6 your Havocs could have disembarked from the Bastion if the had to get the objective.

@DanielTMU

You are right. I didn't even check that.

@GlutenFree:

Wouldn't the VotLW still grant them Hatred:Forces of the Imperium? I think Blood Feud is an extra added thing in addition to VotLW.

GlutenFree (4 months ago): - delete
Steve, your Iron Warriors do not have hatred against Space Wolves. The Iron Warriors have Blood Feud, all units with the VotLW rule re-roll failed to hit rolls in every round of close combat when attacking Imperial fists units. However, all Imperial Fists have hatred (Iron Warriors) rule.

Hey Steve try using some of Dave's obliterators that he has as troops. I really wanna see how good they would do.
ltmarcos (4 months ago): - delete
@jakediewald Yeah I didn't want to wait until turn 3 to hit with my Wulfen but Definitely something to try out next time. I liked the idea of 15 BC and Battle leader charging out but wulfen would have been stronger. I very much enjoy the constructive criticism and tips I get from people on here. I don't play super often so I don't have a perfect build I rarely play the same army list more than once. It is nice to hear the feedback in such a positive manner. Really like the community on hear. Youtube can be very negative not always though.
