Yo Quirk, let me level with you bro. Just sit down, hear me out man. This is an intervention man. These dice, they're no good for you man. All they're doing is bringing you down, they're a negative influence on your life. Recognizing there's a problem is the first step Quirk, and once you've done that we can start the healing process. It's time Quirk, it's time to use some different dice and move on. We're all here because we're friends and we want the best for you.

The non-outflankning cultists are part of the detatchment so they get infiltrate (ie outflank as well) so no need to separate them.

Quirk I think its time to burn your dice now.

Quirk's Chaos Lord never fought back in the challenge during Dave's turn around the 1:20 mark

Don't all AL chosen and cultists get infiltrate (so ouflank). In which case any of the cultists coming back in have outflank?

An army that doesn't die vs an army that keeps coming back who will be the last one standing???

Nurgle bikers got a buff to swing things in their favor, but I think you guys underestimate how solid nurgle spawn can be. Fun game nonetheless.

AL's warlord of 1 that gives him Infiltrate is actually pretty cool Quirk, as Infiltrate does not confer to attached Independent Characters, so this allows him to keep pace, so to speak, with a unit

I need to travel up there and play Quirk. My dice rolls are just as bad as his. We'd end up in a tie game with us scoring 1 VP each.

Oh my god Quirk I'm so sorry This was a terrible game for the Alpha Legion.

Already my favorite battlereport ever and im only 1:30 in DDD

It would be interesting to see what the Alpha Legion list would be like should Quirk's rolling not have been so bad? Maybe Dave and Quirk should swap lists...with luck not on his side, having T7 bikers would play to Quirk's strengths (i.e. lack of luck, sorry Q)... Bascially, I hope they we get to see Alpha Legion again and Dave doesn't just stick with with Nurgle from now on as I think it is more interesting tactically I think.

AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH DAVE CHAOS IS AWESOME!

Also, idea for the next life of a wargamer - Quirk must make a pilgrimage to redeem himself before the dice gods...

When regaining the cultist squads, dont you need to keep track for what comes back from apart of the detatchment, and what comes back from lost and the damned. The two different rules specifically say that the detatchment roll only brings back the cultists as part of the detactchment. Because of this, wouldnt the cultists only make one roll for the detatchment special rule now? Cultists that come back from the lost and the damned roll would come back as part of the formation, so they would still have the two dice roll when killed.

WildRiccochet (10 months ago): - delete
Since the alpha legion detachment grants infiltrate to Chosen, CSM, and Cultist wouldn't cultist who recur due to the Cultist Uprising rule gain infiltrate/outflank?%uFEFF

Dastevenator (10 months ago): - delete
Random thing: at about 36:00, Plague Marines from Plague Colony do not get Favoured Scions special rule. Only Chaos Warband. Just so you are aware Dave!

in the combat at ~39 minutes, Dave's chaos lord is supposed to be Initiative 4 so all of Quirk's marines would have been able to fight back

Hey Dave here's an idea try not being such a huge douche to quirk. It's bad enough the dice betray him at every turn but to keep rubbing it in all game isnt cool.

In the spirit of the holiday season, I think the dice gods need to get quirk some new dice. I'm pretty sure those dice are an impossibility

Austin87 (10 months ago): - delete
1:14 the bikes did jink - so too many hits

Kovlovsky (10 months ago): - delete
Poor Quirk! Seeing him rolling so many ones, especially with plasma, was both hilarious and tragic at the same time. I now realise that Forge World deliberately tailored the Horus Heresy Alpha Legion rules especially after Quirk's needs. When you take Alpharius all non vehicles gain Prefered Enemy (everything). I think it would be safer for him (and probably better for his sanity) to play them instead. Tzeentch, the dice god, is playing mind tricks with you.

Also throwing your dices into a fire wouldn't be a bad idea.

Is it just the paint job on Q's tanks or do they look dusty to anyone else?

DanielTMU (10 months ago): - delete
@JohanCSM:
@Zmyeevich:
Since the Formation Special Rule grants them Outflank specifically, and the Detachment Special Rule does not, ONLY the Squads generated from the Formation can Outflank from Ongoing Reserve, the Squads generated from the Detachment cannot. Therefore Quirk does have to separate them for bookkeeping purposes unless Quirk declares beforehand that he has no intention of Outflanking either way.

quirk, just avoid plasma in the future. melta is cheaper, stronger and doesnt get hot. save yourself from the frustration. plasma is only worth it if you can reroll the 1 somehow or have feel no pain.

also while you may be playing with the same points, the list were woefully unbalanced, which is a suprise since you guys usually try to provide more of an equal match rather than power gaming or winning at all costs

lokdar (10 months ago): - delete
Did Quirk ever fire the Rocket squad during the game?

Gasparos (10 months ago): - delete
next time pls make the Alfa Legion whit max Cultists

herbalteaa (10 months ago): - delete
Awesome game! Would love too see more Nurgle matches in the future

Zmyeevich (10 months ago): - delete
good game. But remember that reborn cultists and their clones cannot use their outflank rule, since they arrive from ongoing reserves and not regular reserves. (Outflank USR:..."When this unit arrives from Reserves, but not Ongoing Reserve, the controlling player rolls a D6: on a 1-2,
the unit comes in from the table edge to the left of their controlling player%u2019s own table edge; on a 3-4, they
come on from the right; on a 5-6, the player can choose left or right."
And if they could, wouldn't the AL Cult uprising have it too, since they all have infiltrate and thereby also outflank?
