Steve, the invisibility psychic power makes you snap shoot at a target. This would mean you would not be able to fire your mortars at the invisible squad of cultists.

@trancekuja84, I think they are playing it as if the invisibility makes you target them at BS and WS 1

19:15 or so, combi-bolters are twin-linked.

Also yes, Mitch does make for a good batrep opponent!

Steve, Mitch has been a fan favorite from before you were even at Miniwargaming! He's one of the only players to have played Dark Eldar on the site before you joined.

Mitch was great! A good fun player to watch and listen too.....
But this battle report was the first battle in ages I had to skip large amounts. Not because of rules mistakes ( there was a few but I don't care about that) but because Steve brought a list with untold amounts of pie plates and Mitch brought untold amounts of models to remove.... to make it worst the set up chosen resulted in Mitch having to walk across the table for three turns and when he got there he was facing a termy squad with the big boss. This pains me to say this cos I like Steve and Mitch but this was boring. Let's see closer match ups, even if the results in changing the mission a little from a random roll.

SLAANESH!!! And Mitch only thing better would be slaanesh and khorne

malko888 (Over a year ago): - delete
the emperor's children army was specifically from the angel exterminatus book, which is in the horus heresy series.
30k isn't just a rule-set, it is a period of (fictional) history

Barbarossa (Over a year ago): - delete
@xtroopers9
Word Bearers are the only Legion that can take daemon allies, but they arent the only army in 30k that can ally with daemons.
Imperial Militia and Warp Cults can also ally with daemons if they take the Horde Cult and/or Tainted Flesh Provenances.
So technically any traitor Legion can have daemon allies if they run an Army of Dark Compliance and use one or both of those Provenances.

@xtroopers9, 'technically' the 20 kakophoni were all Horus heresy models, and Lucius doesn't have a model, and cultists don't have 'official' Horus heresy models

xtroopers9 (Over a year ago): - delete
Im sure this will get some down votes but here it goes, I will be that guy. This should have been called a 40k batrep. Aside from using the rules from 30k it wasn't a 30k game. No actual 30k stuff in the EC army and despite that in 30k rules only Word Bearers can take deamon allies. The EC are beautiful, but it should be a 40k batrep if he is only using 40k stuff. IMO (which isnt much and other people will disagree which is fine) it takes away the fun 30k factor when you only see 40k models being used. Love you guys and your vids, but this one just didn't do it for me.

Also, the weapons on rhinos are all pintle mounted, so they have a 360 fire arc.

Barbarossa (Over a year ago): - delete
Another enjoyable batrep, Mitch is hands down my favourite guest, his lists are always fun and thematic.

As for Rules you Got Wrong:
The Bio-psychic Shock rule of the Kakophoni does not work on units with the Fearless rule (Page 13 of the Legiones Astartes: Age of Darkness Legions).
Guess what happens when you Ride the Ironfire?
%u201CIron Warrior units within 6 inches of an Ironfire counter gain Fearless.%u201D (Page 194 of Horus Hersey Book 6: Retribution).
So at 59:24, those Siege Tyrants would not have died from the Bio-psychic Shock rule. They couldnt hear the Kakophoni over all the artillery!

ChampionLogan (Over a year ago): - delete
RYGW - Although the Cataphractii terminators are slow and purposeful and cannot fire overwatch, it passes to the unit, meaning Perturabo would be unable to fire overwatch despite the rule not being his.

ahzek ahriman (Over a year ago): - delete
I'm not sure if you won that much by kill points. Cultists don't concede victory points from killing them (disposable rule), so you would only get 4 vps from daemons and 5 from emperor's children. would that still be enough?

Also did you choose the heavy bolters to have 18" range and 360 degree view or 36" but 90 degree view angle? Because i think you shot cultists more than 18 inches away, but then turned around the other way to shoot the daemon prince...

Otherwise a great game! Cultists are really scary, but that phosphex is even worse
