Filled with liquid brass, the eponymous lake is a locus for Chamon's magic, drawing in all the metallic energies from around it into its depths. Travelling through the lake, weapons lose their keenness and often seem to wilt towards the metal below. The islands upon the lake likewise are bare of metal; seemingly, it washed away in centuries past, leaving bare rock on which nothing can survive long on.

Such a desolate place draws people to it for one simple reason, at its centre lies the calcified skeleton of an ancient beast which leads to the realm of Ghur. Entering through its ancient jaws, the world outside seems to dull, and the parched air of the Lake of Brass begins to dissipate, and a chill sets in. Travelling through its spine, a cold wind blows through and quickly, the traveller finds themselves in the frigid heights of Ghur.
