Ever since Abaddon the Despoiler destroyed Cadia and the great pylons that kept the Eye of Terror at bay, the warp has been agitated.
For many millennia my brethren and I have stood vigil over the great Vaults beneath the surface of Holy Terra. Many of the rune-locked portals and sanctic circles have been broken, releasing the eldritch horrors and forbidden technologies from within.
I, Shield Captain Borsa Thursk, Lockwarden of the Shadowkeepers, have left Terra after over a century and a half of silent vigil, hunting those things which dared escape my watch.
Which has led us to the Cassula Sector, a Sector that has begun to be occupied by another Pariah Nexus. The Dreaded Silence. Yet another threat to humanity and the Imperium that protects it. The last place any sane person would want to go.
If that were not enough, a Tyranid Hive Fleet has descended on countless worlds, consuming them for their biomass, converting their populations to even more of their foul abominations.
And yet go we must, for within it lies one of our most dangerous escaped prisoners. Something over ten thousand years old, from an age when men thought they had ultimate control.
We will hunt it down and return it to its cell.
