Please note that the rules have been updated.

To go with our official grand opening of our Warhammer store Dave and I have decided to host a fun video contest.

Watch this video to find out how it will work:

Basically, here is the summary:

How to enter:

In order to enter you must create a video related to Warhammer in some way (without infringing on their copyright by using images, videos, sounds, music, or anything that is theirs except for your own miniatures).

Here are some examples of YouTube videos that have to do with Warhammer:

A cool stop motion Warhammer video
A time lapsed Warhammer 40K battle

Basically you can do it however you want, but there are certain rules that you must follow:

1. The video must be no longer than 10 minutes in length.
2. The video must be posted on YouTube as a video response to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WHHZNJVIgbg.
3. The video MUST have something to do with any of Games Workshops tabletop games (not computer games).
4. The video must not violate YouTube’s terms of service.
5. The video must be submitted no later than February 29, 2008 at midnight EST.

Great places to find free royalty free music (i.e. you can use it for free without getting permission):

PRIZES:

The winner of this contest will win a $500 gift certificate to our Warhammer Store.

Two runner-ups will be chosen as well, and both will win a $50 gift certificate to our store.

JUDGING:

Two components are important for judging - the votes that you receive on your YouTube video from other users, and our votes as judges.

That means that you need to get your video out to as many people as possible in order to increase your chances of winning.

How do I get more people to see my YouTube video?

1. When uploading the video the title, description, and tags are VERY important. We suggest using the words “Warhammer” “Contest” and other great descriptors in your title and description.

Your tags should include at least these:

warhammer, 40k, 40000, fantasy, lotr, lord of the rings, contest, games workshop, miniwargaming

It should also include tags that describe more about your video, such as:

orks, necrons, goblins, stop motion, stopmotion, empire, bretonia

The more tags you use the better, as long as the tags are relevant to what you have created.

2. Post your video on Facebook and everywhere else you can.

Tell your friends about it. Post it on forums that are related to Warhammer (make sure not to spam them, post it as something fun to watch).

Generally get it out to as many people as you can (without spamming of course).

If you have any questions about this contest, please post a comment here or email us at support -at- miniwargaming.com.

Thanks!
