I just wanted to post a quick snippet of what I thought of last night’s gaming night in our Welland Warhammer Club.

This one will be quick, but I am going to try to document some of the battles we have in future posts.

Here is what I wrote on our Warhammer Forum:

Well, we had 18 people show up again, with a couple of new guys.

We had several games going on, including a 1300 point Chaos vs Tyranid, a Tau vs Chaos, an Imperial vs Necron, and of course, my favorite…

TYRANID VS ORKS!

That’s right, I finally go to play with my newly painted Tyranids against Dan’s Space Orks. It was only a 700 point game, but it was awesome!

Some highlights: After losing half of my genestealers the remaining 4 jumped on his Ork Bikes and tore them to shreds, without giving them any chance of hitting back. They then ran up a hill, took a few hits, lost another guy, then the 3 ran into a Def Dread, ripping it apart so much that it exploded, killing two more!

The remaining genestealer ran 18 inches in one turn (6″ + fleet (rolled a 6) + 6″ assault) and got to Dan’s Big Mek with Shock Attack Gun (you shoulda seen his face) and killed it outright! It then died to the remaining 6 Ork Boyz.

And in the end, Dan had 6 Ork Boyz and a truck left, and I had one fully loaded Elite Carnifex. It was Dan’s turn, which was the last turn of the game, and he charged his 6 little Ork Boyz (one was a Nob with a power claw) at my Carnifex, wounded it 3 times, then suffered two deaths.

The Carnifex failed its moral test! (I rolled an 11!) It turned around, and got overrun by the Orks, finishing the game in victory for the Orks!

It was a ton of fun seeing all the crazy stuff happen, and I can’t wait to play with my full 2200 point Tyranid army (the other 1500 were tied up in another game).

The Tyranid swarm will return…
