Click on the video below to see how to properly submit your tutorial to this contest.
It’s time for another contest! This one will have to do with creating articles to teach painting, magnetizing, and using green stuff.
Here are the rules:
RULES
1. You must create a well-formatted, grammar-correct, spelling-mistake-free article of at least 200 words teaching a technique or tip that falls into one of the following three categories:
Painting Tips
Magnetizing Tips
Using Green Stuff Tips
2. With your article you must also either include a video that shows the steps or include pictures within the article.
3. The article must be posted on MiniWarGaming.com. We will NOT accept entries via video responses, forum posts, or in emails. The article must be submitted into the appropriate contest category as the primary category to enter.
4. The article does not have to be a new creation, but you must be the author.
5. You must be at least 13 years of age to enter, or have legal consent from a parent or guardian.
6. All submissions must be received by midnight (EST), December 24, 2008.
7. You can enter as many submissions as you like, however…
8. You cannot submit the same article to more than one category. For example, if you create an article that includes magnetizing and green stuff, you can only enter it into either Magnetizing Tips or Using Green Stuff Tips. A better idea would be to split it up into two articles and submit one to each category.
9. You may not use copyrighted images in your article or video.
CATEGORIES
There are three categories that you can enter, each with their own prizes. They are:
Painting Tips - tips, tricks, and techniques on anything to do with miniatures painting (e.g. How to paint space marines, how to prime)
Magnetizing Tips - tips, tricks, and techniques on magnetizing your miniatures (e.g. How to magnetize a Carnifex, how to choose the right magnets)
Using Green Stuff Tips - tips, tricks, and techniques on using green stuff (e.g. sculpting techniques, conversions)
PRIZES
Each category will have a top prize of a $100 gift certificate to our Warhammer Store. Also, within each category there will be two runner-up prizes of $25 gift certificates.
In other words, there are three $100 prizes and six $25 prizes to be won.
JUDGING
Entries will be judged based on quality, uniqueness, usefulness, correctness (i.e. grammar, spelling, formatting), and just plain awesomeness.
We reserve the right to remove any entry from the contest that we feel is in violation of any of the above rules.
EXAMPLES
Here are some examples of articles that would qualify for the contest:
Example #1 - How to magnetize a dreadnought - Magnetizing Tips
Example #2 - How to make textured paint - Painting Tips

is it posible to upload a word document with the content in it?
an other question: the link of the photobucket picts(because i’m new with it) is it the HTML or the IMG code that is needed?
Michel - watch the second video to see exactly how to post
Jeppe - no, you cannot upload a word document. The image needs to be posted with an IMG code like this:
can i use photos that are not mine because my camera takes bad photos? The photos that my camera takes are dark and look old.
i put my first post up befor the video came out
question: the pictures, most they be on every step you take or may it be 1 picture for 2 layers?
Michel - you can only use images that you have the right to use.
Jeppe - it’s up to you. The more details you show, the better chance you have of winning.
You guys know like the language format and that (it probably doesnt matter but…) since i’m Australian does it matter if i do it in English Australia?
Mark - no it doesn’t matter. We are just trying to make sure that people spend more time spell checking and grammar checking their article.
I thought I’d seen something about adding visual elements in the video? Does that include .PDF files? Because making an article with the tools you have isn’t as close to professional as InDesign CS3
Where should we post/send this stuff?
Could you open a new category for terrain? I have a sweet article to enter.
Hey, I was wondering about the image rules.
I know we are not allowed to use copyrighted
images in our Videos or pictures. But y profile
picture is a very slightly edited picture I
got fro a website for 40k backgrounds. I wanted
to use it at the very end of the video I
will be adding to the content, just as like a
signature picture. How can I tell if its a
copyrighted image?
