Dave, I'm in. I'm definitely at the "OK" stage now - I've been jogging pretty regularly lately and I'm definitely in better health - and pretty much at my goal weight from our challenge last year.

Dave, I don't know if you still read or even get these comments, but I wanted to say thank you for making these videos. Actually thank you to both you and Matt. I was just recently told by a doctor that I'm on the borderline to the morbidly obese category (I'm 6'1" and I weigh 288 lbs or 131 Kgs.) This was very hard for me to hear as 3 years ago I had gotten myself into the best shape of my life just from doing my cooking job and walking 3 miles to work everyday (I weighed 180 lbs) and since taking a desk job at a call center had lost all motivation to walk after learning to ride a motorcycle (I don't drive a car) and living more than 10 miles from where I work. After getting the news from my doctor I found the videos you and Matt made on here and they are a true inspiration. My fiance and I have started going for walks (45 min walks every other night for our first week to ease into it) and on the couple cold days where we couldn't go I did sit ups. This week I will be doing walks and sit ups every night with push ups on cold nights. Thank you again, good sir!

After seeing this series of videos I am going to "try to commit" to get lean and healthier. I am 6'2" 286lbs and have a very wide build. I was a discus thrower and now that I am just focused on school I stopped taking care of myself and heavy lifting i have gained 50lbs from sitting around. It is very inspiring to see how far you have come and how you make it seem actually realistic to accomplish

Novalyfe (Over a year ago): - delete
if you dont mind me asking, how did you lose the initial 56lbs without cardio? that seems an insane loss without doing some form of cardio

Inoculate (Over a year ago): - delete
Man watching this has kind of broken the illusion I've had myself in. I get home ate, around 10-11pm and eat dinner and snack til about 2am...and it shows. Thanks for the inspiration to finally change these habits of mine!

Yes I know the challenge is over, but random came across this video. Time to change it up, a little chaos in life is always a good thing .

Due to work issues I never noticed that you where on this health endeavor.
I started mine in May of last year.
Been lifted 5 days a week for all of that time.
Lost 40 lbs.
And am eating pretty much the same as you, and am just as pumped.
2 things:
For a salad dressing:
1 whole tomato, 2 basil leaves and hot sauce to taste, blended, makes a great dressing, AND its a low GL food at about 30 calories.

Also check out "Fathead the movie" or the Fathead Youtube channel.
I also saw "Supersize me" but there was very little empirical evidence cited. I think you'll like the detail and sources provided by Tom Naughton, Fatheads creator.

You and I are following similiar paths here, congradulations, and Good luck!

cheapshot795 (Over a year ago): - delete
You really should watch Fat Head too. If refutes a lot of the information in Super Size Me. It's on the Netflix.

I find this video so inspring, that I will create a copy of it with german subtitles to be able to show it to all my not-so-good-in-english friends and relatives. I just found this so inspring. Don't get me wrong; I am 5'3"=159 cm and weigh 53kg (=117pounds), so am really in OK shape, but I just want to get even healthier. Thanks Dave, for this video!

My goal this summer has been to go from 11.5% body fat to about 6%, the cardio seems to be the easiest for me as I ran run a triathlon everyday basically. The eating and sleeping is the hard part. Plus staying motivated for me. With all this support Leonidas will start saying he wants to look like you lol

TauofMontKa (Over a year ago): - delete
You'be inspired me Dave, I've noticed that I've gotten a little flabby and tired quickly. Time to start working out and eating healthy I guess XD At least I get a subway for lunch most days, just need to add salad hopefully should knock some lbs off Thank you

Hunsiki (Over a year ago): - delete
you have inspired me to actually use my P-90X workout system to completion!!

Nickokuliaoze (Over a year ago): - delete
This is perfect timing - As of June 1st, I've also started a summer workout program. It'll be an extreme, 90-day program, and the first installment left me incredibly sore. Definitely going to take a cue from you and ease into it gradually, so I don't get destroyed and burned out right away. The Traitor Legions weren't built in a day, after all...

Kassius (Over a year ago): - delete
And drinking water mostly is actually one of the keys to lose weigh, but it's not completely true that some other drinks are bad: a 100% juice in the morning give You energy and vitamins in the morning and drinking a glass of milk before sleep can prevent the night catabolism (body eating your muscles instead of fat). And Yes, Junk food and sweets are deadly for your diet!

Kassius (Over a year ago): - delete
3 months will be hard man Seeing your body now I guess You're at something like 18-20% of fat in Your body, and in order to begin see Your ABS, You have to arrive at around 15%, which can be easily achieve. But If you want the shape of Leonidas You have to arrive at less then 10%, which starts also to be the level to can achieve something in bodybuilding competitions. And to get to that level... it's 80% diet, and then exercices, and seeing what You eat now, You should arrive there in a couple of months, don't know if You manage to do it in 3, hope so for You, but surely You will

Seeing this Vlog... made me feel bad Last year I went to a natural fitness competition, and this year I'm always in a good shape, can spot my abs, but it's not what I want You made me want to get back there and go for a competition in november

Just a thought, you may want to consider some lemon, lime, and/or orange juice on your salads instead of a dressing.

Hirsch (Over a year ago): - delete
Dave something that you might consider is adding a bit of plain mustard to your tuna if you start to tire of eating it plain. (I know it can get that way, I ate straight tuna for lunch every day for a couple months straight) It might seem like an odd combination and it's not necessarily for everyone but it's a great alternative to mayo or other condiments due to it not having any carbs, fat or calories.

Also (and I know you were going by memory, and good on you for remembering the number so well) a can of tuna has about 14g of protein per serving, there are roughly 4 servings in a can so that's about 50g in one can.

Clocking in at 231 lbs. Best of luck dave, and im doing it right beside you. Thanks for the motivation .

Hey Dave, might you include (aproximated) conversions of the weights to the metric system for all the citizens of the Old World. It's just hard to put lbs values in relation to something, we know.

megamanrocx (Over a year ago): - delete
Wow I love how you two are making these vlogs. I've been thinking of losing a little weight, and after watching Matt's video yesterday have gotten the will power to do it. I might try using light weights to start off so I can tone the muscles as I lose the weight. Good idea?

Hirsch (Over a year ago): - delete
Good for you Dave! If youre looking to start more cardio, you should check out plyometrics. it awesome for your cardio and I personally have found it easier to make myself do than to go for a run. Also try to log you workouts. It is far easier to keep the motivation level up when you can look back and see just how much progress you've made.

@ Drinkgasoline its not that you shouldn't lift weights every day, you just shouldnt work the same muscle groups every day. you need to give your muscles about 48 hours to repair themselves.
