I'm assuming this game was filmed a while ago, as it appears the AM codex is not being used. That said, this battle report is absolutely FULL of mistakes, and most of them are not because Quirk hasn't played Tau in a long time. I hope this doesn't sound too harsh, but it feels like neither player really knew the basic rules for the game, and definitely didn't know the individual army rules.

I'm not going to bother finding the time stamps for everything since you're not doing Rules You Got Wrong anymore, but here we go.

It's already mentioned, but the Leman Russ would be able to fire overwatch because a natural roll of a 6 always hits. In addition, Leman Russes are in fact toughness 8, Quirk, even though you told your opponent that they are not. Also, Leman Russes in melee only do 1 damage, not d3.

The Riptide has a 2+ save, the Stormsurge has a 3 save. You seemed to consistently get confused about either what your save was, or what your opponent's AP modifier was. On AM turn 1, you took a 5 save on the Stormsurge against the first Basilisk, and then took a 4 save against the second Basilisk, which fired immediately afterwards.

Only one Tau unit can be brought in with a Homing Beacon, afterwards it "shorts out and is removed from the battlefield."

Assuming this was filmed before the AM codex, the Valkyrie would be hitting on 5 instead of 4 because he moved and fired heavy weapons.

Steal Suits are toughness 4. You told your opponent that he needed 5 to wound with his mortar teams (strength 4). Shortly afterwards, you had Heavy Stubbers (S4) wounding your Stormsurge (T7) on 3 . The Macharius was wounding the Riptide (T7) on 5 on turn 1, and then wounding the Stormsurge (also T7) on 3 on turn 2. I don't know the strength of the weapon off the top of my head, but I'm sure that's not correct. It felt like you weren't sure about the strenght and toughness values of the weapons and targets and were just calling out things to speed up the battle.

Wyrdvane Psykers only roll 1d6 when using psychic powers, and add to that based on how many models are in the unit.

And even though it didn't really matter because the game was basically over, you definitely can't go back and use a Command Point to reroll a wound after rolling for damage.

P181 - "Hit Roll: Each time a model makes an attack, roll a dice. If the roll is equal to or greater than the attacking model's Ballistic Skill characteristic, then it scores a hit with the weapon it is using. If not, the attack fails and the attack sequence ends. A roll of 1 always fails, irrespective of any modifiers that may apply."

This in no way implies that a natural 6 always hits, nor is that fact mentioned (that I can find) anywhere in the rules, except with regards to overwatch.

P182: ..."Overwatch is resolved like a normal shooting attack (albeit one resolved in the enemy's Charge phase) and uses all the normal rules except that a 6 is always required for a successful hit roll, irrespective of the firing model's Ballistic Skill or any modifiers."

Okay come on, this has to be a good enough justification to bring back Rules We Got Wrong...seriously

When the stealth suits charged the leman russ should still get to overwatch as overwatch always hits on 6s irrespective of the BS or any modifiers.

So many rules that were wrong, including basic ones. As a Tau and Guard player, this was a really tough batrep to watch.

drones are treated as a seperate unit as soon as deployed. so you could have shot all the markerlights from them before shooting everthing else.
also the riptide is equipped with 2 smart missile systems. that means you have 8 shots.
despite the little mistakes i enjoy watching your batreps.
would love to see some ork batreps again soon

I believe drones ignore the penalty for moving and firing heavy weapons

Hey Quirk, Drones are counted as a seperate unit, so they do not disappear when the accompanying unit are slain
Love your work!

There was a battrep vs. the same horrible guard list. 2 Superheavys in a game wich is not over 2000 points is just wrong.

In the other game (Episode 36) he plays vs Lukas Necrons. And it was not realy fun to watch.

Good spirit that both enjoyed. Maybe when trying out a new army try it against an opponent who knows both armies so you're not trying to work it all out on the fly?

This is a BatRep that makes me rethink my Vault Membership (yes, even if it's not a Vault video). There are too many errors, more than there are actual tactical choices. I don't find it interesting, and frankly I'm getting a bit fed up with the whole thing.

"Mistakes were made" should be the title of this video...

Rob should just ask Dave to do the scene of Gollum in pain yelling "It burns us!" as he fall from his office chair and writhes on the floor in agony. Then anytime someone at MWG says they are playing Tau in the intro for a Batrep, Rob inserts that clip right after the word Tau is said.

The first army he ever played Quirk builds a fishy list to go up against James's Astra Militarum. *Note: This is a pre-codex Astra Militarum video*
