Hey Josh... and Lee.

Any chance on a series on competitive play? Mostly what y'all do is rather narrative and generally playing for fun, which is honestly fine. But it'd be cool to see what the tournament meta is and what lists you all can throw together with your menagerie of minis.

Just a thought. Also LEE!! I know you aren't the biggest fan of being on camera but any chance of a small series on kitbashing tips and tricks? Sorta like Chris' series on painting. I'd love to have some resources to reference when the need arises.

Thanks for all the hard work, and happy wargaming.

Hey Josh and Lee,

Did you guys know that Steve is a Sex and the City fan and has seen the movies multiple times? Could you please ask him at some point whether he is a Carrie, a Samantha, a Charlotte or a Miranda? I think he is a Carrie: warm and concerned about friends but jumpy and prone to anxiety, funny in a somewhat self-deprecating way but also capable of surprising insight, he likes to feel supported and whilst he is able to enjoy fleeting liaisons he is secretly wishing for the right guy to come along and sweep him off his feet. Does this sound accurate?

Hey Josh AND LEE.
First off, you guys rule. As you know.
Lee, I'm assuming you built the new Necromunda models. Was wondering how customizable ye found em. Easy to personalize and swap weapons for campaigns?
Also.. for both.. any cool new (metal)bands discovered lately?
Thx and have a most excellent day.

Hi Lee and Josh

Some time ago you talked about how you like space wolves more as space Vikings then space werewolves. Since the space wolves codex have not been released yet. What would you like to see in the new codex and what would you like to disappear from it? This can be both models, units and fluff. And please tell if you would like Leman Russ to return?

@Josh

A few questions I have been wondering about.

1) If you were a Tactical Marine and were sent to hot lava planet with toxic damps that forced you to keep on your helmet. Would you keep your beard?

2) If your beard could have s super power, what would it be and why?

3) Which Chaos God would you prefer to be enslaved to?

Keep up the good work and your sense of humor

@Lee

Your Deffwatch models were awesome. I am a huge fan.

Happy wargaming

Hey fellas, i recently Vaulted up and have been watching all the narrative campaigns. Josh, your storytelling is excellent, and Lee, I feel that you may be the God of modeling. I would really like to see a video series with Lee and whoever else where you talk about your conversions and your thought process when starting a build for one of Matts weird ideas.

Also, I would love to see Lee in more videos. Your the only one that keeps Steve from picking on Quirk.

Hello Josh and Lee and happy new year to you both.

A couple of questions.

Lee, can you give me any ideas on how to convert an ork trukk to look from the snakebite clan (the less technological one). Im trying to have one trukk per clan but I dont know how to do it for snakebite.

To Josh, any ideas on how to make a good imperial fists list against eldar. Those smites are giving me a hard time.

Thank you both, and keep rocking like you do for many years to come. Also, last year I managed to paint a lot of minis thanks to MNW videos. Couldnt be more grateful to all the MNW team. Keep it up!

@Lee and Josh

It appears that there are a couple reptile lovers at MWG, and given how not only aptly named your oldest is, maybe you could do the sit and talk with him clinging onto you like a Beardie likes to do?

Lee, what bands do you generally listen too? I am a fan of Sabaton, Powerwolf, Iced Earth, Blind Guardian, Amon Amarth, Rammstein, and Nightwish generally speaking. I was wondering if you could pick a mix or a band, and just play it softly in the background while answering further questions, to perhaps enlighten non-metal worshipping fools?

Hey Josh* & Lee,

Do you have any hidden talents? Talents which would never come up in your day to day work at MiniWarGaming.

My hidden talent that not many people in my life would ever know is that I can ride a unicycle. I had no reason to learn this talent other than boredom and an interest to learn to ride a useless mode of transport. I work in an engineering office, so the talent is far from related to my profession. I can also juggle but it is mutually exclusive to riding a unicycle. If my life takes a turn for the worse, maybe I will learn to do both at the same time and become a street performer!

Thanks for reading and remember you'll never get the time you wasted reading this back.

*I wrote my name in the first time I added this comment. Couldn't find a delete button for the comments. O well!

Hi Matt. I loved Deffwatch but again there is one Deffwatch episode missing. in last mission you specifically stated that there will be one more mission where Quirk will command all the Deffwatch minus Steves leader who was melted for his DNA. What happened to that episode?!

YAR JOSH!

Last year was a bit of journey, as i was in a bit of 'discovery mode' in finding the armies i wanted to play. Fortunately, i've become a real big fan of yours, and now have all the model kits collected for 30k Mechanicum, AdMech, and Beastclaw Raiders. From there, i alternated down into some space marines, Khorne Bloodbound, and some Word Bearers.

Thank you for this, as i now have a TON of stuff to paint!

My question for you: Amongst all of the 30k, 40k, and AoS armies that you play, if there is one army you would play everyday for the rest of your career at MWG, which one would it be and why?

Josh... ANNNND LEE

So Paint Man and Bearded Assembly Boy... What would be the name of your arch nemesis super villain you two constantly battle to save the miniature world and what would your super slick super hero suits look like?

Also Josh, since you're clearly the the sidekick, what would be your trademark exclamation you say to Paint Man?

P.S. You guys are awesome! Keep being you!

Hello Josh and Lee and a nice day to you two. A happy new year to the Miniwargaming crew and I hope you had a pleasant time over the holidays. I'm a new Vault member and started last year in November my very first 40K tabletop army (Thousand Sons). I got my Vault membership for two reasons first you all are very entertaining and I wanted to enjoy more of your content. Secondly some insight into general strategy, tactical analysis of each codex and army composition, as I had no clue about 8th and had never before played any tabletop games. Currently I have played 32 games with 1000-2000 points and three apocalypse games with around 3500-4000 points each. I think I am now properly intruduced into the hobby and have a firm grip on the rules. Now after the build up my questions:

1) Can you please try not to overexert yourselves and rush battlereports all the time. With my understanding that 8th brought mayor rules and datasheet changes and my inflated ego, I assume you more than often presume to know what a unit or rule does or you're skimming them. Can you please in future battlereports and campaign make certain that you know what the models and army can and can't do? You should (In my opinion pull the breaks) and focus per filming crewmember on 3-4 armies max so that in the reports it looks and feels like that you're interested and have a firm grip on the army's themselves!

2) When reviewing a codex please bring up changes in points cost and possible equipment changes with points. Can you please return to a format of two people rewiewing?

Richard Wagner (13 days ago): - delete
Oops I pressed the submit button as an accident.

3) Can you do another review of the chaos demon codex and this time not lock Dave into a cellar? I was disappointed in the review on one side that Quirk was all over the place and tired when doing the review, while he was missing all the essential point changes in the codex. This basically reduced the value of the review for me who wanted to start a second army with either slanesh or Tzeentch Daemons to zero. Also when Quirk was doing a solo review of the codex it would have been nice, since you Josh and Dave never spoke a word in a faction focus of something similar about Daemons and the four specific God devoted Legions about how to do a Daemon army and what models can do what tactically. When spending my first hundred euros for Thousand Sons and assembling them I did a lot of terrible mistakes on the efficiency of their warhead and the overall unit composition, there it would have been nice to gain a clue somewhere but currently nobody on the internet or in my local GW played them or had a clue about them (other than Magnus and that their weapons for shooting have high AP). With currently around 1700 euros spend my force has reached a level where I can finally lose a noticeable threat on the table against most army's (eldar cheese and Astra Militarum artillery and tank spam still excluded).

4) Please make a review of the Thousand Sons Codex where you bring up points cost and equipment. And can you make the review in a pair (Dave would be nice as this is the last Chaos Codex till fall likely) and feature some tactics against high toughness and rush armies in some way, as you have skipped Thousand Sons in the Chaos Faction focus complete?

4) When reviewing the Adeptus Custodes and maybe building a studio army please let the people reviewing it not leave the points cost and changes out as this is a new army. Can you please review it in a pair and let the one person fielding them maybe get a grip on mechanics and rules before releasing battlereports with the army?

5) When reviewing Thousand Sons can you please talk about some tactics with their new unit and rules range, especially against high toughness and rushing heavy hitters? Maybe do a pseudo faction focus within the review with all points value s talked about as they are currently uniquely bad and without any faction focus or tactics talk?

6) Can you feature in the future uneven terrain (height differences not in 3 inch intervals and slow or rough increases with hills) and correct measurements when doing movement and shooting on such terrain from base to base as proclaimed in the rules? For example in the last battlereport 78 Deathguard Vs Admech Quirk measured shooting distances which had a height difference from model to base, when both had a base, up the hill and cargo boxes. Iris also clearly stated in the rules book that a model is than visible when it has a base when you have a direct uninterrupted line between the bases of models of units. When determinating distance to vehicles it also states clearly that the only things considered for viserability and distance is the hull without demo and WEAPONS, which you are currently not doing since you measured for example from the turret weapon of a leman Russ for distance and visibility before. I like to see the mats you use but a battle other than plain city or plain nature would be seriously refreshing. Try maybe building hills out of Polystyrol Plateau from a hobby market glue 3 one inch thick ones over one another atop a thin plywood board. Than take out an axe, machete or good big knife to roughly form the edges and finish the shape with a belt sander. Than put some wood glue on followed with some fine sand and paint in whatever coulor. Quickly apply some shade and a minimum of highlights and then maybe some static grass or minimum terrain pieces. It coated me three days each day three hours to build enough terrain that way for two 48*96 tables and it looks good. With that you have terrain like hills, mountains or small river valleys.

6) I know you do it for simplification and to shorten the videos, but don't measure almost all distances with your eyes and assume it's that. Can you please use that combat gauge for melee? For example to see which models can legally attack, you all seem to undercut or overestimate quite a few models in larger brawls (sometimes even entire unit rows).

7) What is your opinion about the release schedule of GW's models and codex so far? I'm missing that there are so few Xenos armies and that they should focus on renewing their terribly outdated sculpts/models see Sisters of Battle, Abbadon, Vostroyans and things like Eldar aspect warriors.

I have been watching your content since 2011 on YouTube and your 8th edition coverage brought me to my turning point, where I stopped only reading the books and started the real hobby. I once was almost at the point starting Warhammer Fantasy only from the entertainment and enjoyment of conveied through your coverage, but was blown out by GW's handling of the End Times and the introduction of AOS (since I wanted to build a forgeworld chaos dwarf army). I enjoy building, painting and playing a lot (with a slight unease when painting due to my high self-imposed standard). In the end a huge thank you for all those years of very entertaining tabletop coverage and since last year I got a serious amount of wage increase, I am looking forward for many years to come of my newly acquired vaultmembership.

Happy wargaming and stay awesome.

Hey Josh and Lee,Lee when can we see your awesome Emporos Children on the channel again? Also what do you two think of the new Daemon models and Josh loving your batt reps keep up good work

Gaunt (2 weeks ago): - delete
Greetings to you all:

So, you wanted suggestions. I have been watching your videos for several years and apart from a couple youtube comments, I have not responded much. So, here are my thought.

Firstly, you have far and away the best battle reports I have seen on the web, in terms of how you go about doing them and the quality and variety. I Love everything you do, but I would ask you tro remember the battle reports as your bread and butter. I would hope all the new stuff - cool though it may be - doesn't distract or reduce your bat reps.

I would love to see some more variety from the lists in batreps. perhaps even dividing batreps into 'fluffy' and 'copmpetetive': so we could see both serious tournament style batreps every now and then, as well as more wide variety with sub-optimal but interesting lists using squads, units or combinations which are not commonly deployed. One of the reason I enjoy Matt, Dave and Twitch's Batreps so much is that you dont always bring variations of the same list.

I have more, but thats a start. Most of all, please keep doing what you are doing. Love you guys.

Question for Lee... How do you handle painting fatigue? Both the mental block that can come with gaving to paint so many models, and the phisical fatigue that happens to the body and eyes from hours at the work station creating?
Also i would like to say that i very much enjoy the battle reports you have been apart of.
Thank you for sharing your creativity.

@Josh & LEE!

Love what you done with Mat's clip.

Wondering if you can help, im making a board to use at home. Using various shades of green and brown flock rather than a simple gaming mat.

I've got multiple coats down and now i'm looking for something to bring it all together. I used agrax earthshade on a brown section but it just seemed to make it all very similar colour and darker than i want. I've thought about using the army painter dip shades as an %u2018all over%u2019 on the board, thinking it will be the same shade for the whole board and hopefully allow more of the flock colour to come through. I know not exactly your area, but Adam from greenleaf doesn%u2019t have a sit and talk

Also a sneaky 2nd question, what is your favourite beer?

Chozon1 (2 weeks ago): - delete
Josh and...the other guy!

Hello. Poor Lee. Loved the clips though. XD

So I had fun this week. I accidentally glued the torso of my Trygon on upside down...using plastic glue. Had to manufacture a neck from modeling epoxy. Looks more reptilian now, though.

Then I screwed up my magnet polarity after gluing them in. Always feels nice when your magnets push against you instead of locking the arm in place.

So my question is...have either of you ever botched a model assembly, and how did you fix it?

Also, any tips for snow bases? Or rocky, grayish bases?

Any beginner tips for the 40K system? I am very new to it, and find myself losing my depth fairly quickly.

For glory and discount Egg Nog,

--Chozon1
