Mitch is the best. All round greatest guest, and 30k with Mitch is just heaven.

Love it, huge 4000 point battle after missing a week of 30k!

@ Steve, why no apothecaries with augery scanners for your footslogging infantry? Adds interceptor on top of FNP. Seems like a good way to counter all the deepstriking demons. You use foot guys a lot and I think apothecaries make sense for how you play your Iron Warriors.

Plus apothecaries are just cool, I love the lore involved with them.

Are you guys sure that that's how you operate that Tzeentchian Daemon Lord's Staff of Cataclysm? I haven't read it in forever, but I could've sworn that that D6+6 was how many plates got laid down as opposed to how many hits he got with 1 plate. So if he laid it down over 16 models, he could only hit 12 of them max?

Aaaah such an awesome game!Mitch is great!

Some tactical and rules issues:

Turn 2:
-Why charge the Land Raider with the DP and not the Breachers? The raider was difficult to kill anyway (Mitch got lucky with 3HP) and the breachers could shoot him nxt turn. If he'd charged them instead, they would've been far less effective with the DP probably surviving.

Turn 3:
-Why not run the summoned Plague Bearers and Daemonettes?
-Why not shoot the Siege Breakers with Utterblight's vomit and then charge them?

Turn 4:
-Why not run the summoned plague bearers closer to the tanks?
-Why not charge Utterblight into the Siege Breakers?

Turn 5:
-Aetaos'Rau'Keres's Staff of Cataclysm attack does NOT produce Pink Horrors. That's done by a different shooting attack he has, called Render of Veils.
-The Plague bearers should have charged the Tank squad with their Touch of Rust Plague Swords. Charging that squad with two 2+ armnours was a massive waste of specialized power.

I feel like Mitch could have easily won this had he made some more obvious tactical choices. Utterblight would surely have been alive if he'd just charged the Siege Breakers immediately.

This is one of the most entertaining battle reports I have seen in the past couple months from any of the battle report channels. The interaction between host and guest, as well as the selection of well painted and laid out armies heightened the quality of this report. Great job Steve and Mitch.

Oh No! It's Mitch. At least he doesn't have his 2 point Genestealers this time.

@45:49 didn't end up mattering cause Steve made both saves but Skulltaker has Instant Death on his sword on To Wounds of 6, so should have rolled separate from other wounds

At 1:08:00, when the tanks are hit by the Storm of Fire from the Warpstorm Table, would you not scatter the templates regardless?

Even though it can't hurt them it might have scattered onto that combat going on nearby.

Or would the attack not even have gone off due to it being unable to hurt the target?

gargantuan creatures got FNP 5+
could be wrong

Unpure (Over a year ago): - delete
great battle report. but had to watch it abit at a time as the mat is so bring it hurt my eyes

ahzek ahriman (Over a year ago): - delete
wait, if Mitch would have put the free unit of pink horrors he got from the warp storm table into his deployment zone, he would have won the game, right?

p.s. however i'm not sure if the summoned troop units count as scoring in 30k rules...

Steve, you had Perturabo, you should have rolled reserves first turn

(actually i'm not sure on the wording, if it says he must roll on the first turn or may start rolling.)

@ MWG: Should be episodes 41/42 this week guys.

ahzek ahriman (Over a year ago): - delete
Oh by the way in the new FAQ for daemons (you might be playing the game before it came out) they said that chaos focus does not prevent psychic focus.

So if keeper of secrets rolls all the powers on telepathy for example, then he gets primaris for telepathy and primaris of the slaanesh discipline.

ahzek ahriman (Over a year ago): - delete
Aetaos'rau'keres has to roll at half of his powers (2 powers) on the tzeentch discipline.

Great army, Mitch! As always
