What armies for the new 40k starter set?
Recently I have noticed mainly in White Dwarf and on the GW website that they are trying to flog the AOBR starter sets a bit more than usual, With 6th edition not too far away this makes sense.
I am just wondering what armies you guys think will be or should be in the new starter set for 6th edition
Personally I think they will be Space Marine and Necrons
but I think it should be Dark Eldar and Grey Knights

Almost all rumours say Dark Angels and Chaos.
Re: What armies for the new 40k starter set?
I think we pretty much KNOW dark angels are in, the white dwarf spine thing and especially the 40k painting set shows it pretty well. If it's chaos I hope to god the cultist rumours a true. MEQ vs MEQ would ruin it for me, especially with no xeno faction.

Re: What armies for the new 40k starter set?
definitely the best choice. they could simply make it 2 grey knights and a brother captain in the pack and make the tau force like 100 mixed group of fire warriors, plasma rifle equipped suits, etc. just so the grey knights could win by lack of weapons the tau could use.blacksanity wrote:Tau and grey knights lol lol lol lol

Re: What armies for the new 40k starter set?
Agreed, I would give Tau a try if they came in a starter set, I am going to need a new rulebook anyway so I might as well get some models while I'm at it. Although CSM seem a little more challenging to paint then SM so i am excitedJag wrote:booo, i want to see something other than meq v meq. lets get some others fighting it out.
Re: What armies for the new 40k starter set?
I heard that CSM aren't going to be part of the chaos legions codex. Only cultist aka traitor guards and Chaos Daemons. CSM apparently get their codex updated with a lot of FAQ and Errata. This is only speculations that Ive heard not that I know anything.

Re: What armies for the new 40k starter set?
I was hoping GW was going to go "outside the box" and we would see CSM vs.Eldar seeing as they could both use new codices. However looks like we're getting Dark Angles and some form of chaos.
I love the smell of paint in the morning, smells like...victory.

Re: What armies for the new 40k starter set?
I'm not sure they will use two 'imperial based' armies. I think Dark Angels are in but I doubt chaos because they are both SM.
Computer graphics and wargames, the best combination.

Chaos isn't necessarily MEQ. There's the possibility that there will be cultists instead.

I've been hoping for Eldar for a while now but it isn't really a suitable army in a starting box...
