Recently I've noticed that the rate which I add to my armies seems to fluxuate over the course of the years, obviously the highest rate is during holiday season and such. But I have also noticed that, alongside the aforementioned annual fluctuation, people appear to have different collecting styles as well. In 3 years I created my 6,000+ point Warriors of Chaos army, and in 1 1/2 years I created my 1900-2200 Chaos Space Marine army. I would like to know how fast you all build armies and (if viable) start new ones. Thanks ahead of time

hmm it seems you have beaten me then... i do have like 800 points of the 2,5k csm and i have them atleast 2 years.... ohhwell...
but yeah my army is also growing faster i gues its because i got more money to spend.

well i was saving up a lot of money and spent about 8 months worth of saved up money to make a drop pod impact on the hobby, since then i have only really bought some terminators and a squad of marines. i still need 2 more rhinos currently owning only 1 >_> .....

i sually start new armies on my birthday or christmas (usually a battleforce, codex, and some form of hq), and i always try and get up to 1000points asap. Then it usually takes me around a year to get up to 2000points, which is a point i am happy with and then, even though i will continue to expand that army, i will usually start another.

Im planning on starting a new blood angels army but i getonly start when i pay the mortgage, pay for my kids food, clothes, toys etc pay for my car and motorbike etc. Im thinkibg of selling my motorbike and just blowing the money on warhammer, even the missis said go for it so its all thumbs up, i think i could get at £2500 for it so im defo going to spend like crazy lol

i would say go for it as well, the only thing with doing something like that is, even though at the time your pretty sure thats what you wanna do, there will come a point where you wish you hadn't sold your bike

True but with a baby on the way its not really practical buddy. to be honest i have not been on my bike for around 4 onths so i want it to go to a good home and be used lol

Yes, yes and YES!!! Do it man! Bikes are expensive with gas and all !!!! Thats pretty cool, Id love to drop 2500k on warhamer all at once!
On topic: I usually go pretty crazy when Im really into an army. I started Ogres with the new book and now have about 3k put together and paint, with another 2k waiting to be fixed up (bought used) and painted. Right now Ive bought a dwarf army (in Febrary).... about 3k worth and am about half way through.
Between 2,500, and 3,500 point Tau, with more incoming, (52/76) I've most of the Troops painted, 2 of 3 broadsides painted, have 12 crisis suits, with 2 fully painted, 6 near completion, and 4 needing to be primed. 2 out of 5 tanks painted. 2 out of 8 pathfinders painted. And the Piranha squad needs some work, but is mostly painted.
Been collecting for about a 1.5 year. and I have no. time. to. paint.

last year I have done a ton of addition to my armies, this year is kind of just fleshing out what I want when I want since I have all I need for both my GW factions, so I am kind of focusing on other games right now.
