I just got my hands on the new Sisters of Battle codex from White Dwarf and I noticed something a little odd. Some units who carry Rosarius Shield of Faith as an ability. Is this just redundantly there for fluff reason since the Rosarius offers a +4 invulnerability save or is there some scenario where Shield of Faith would still be useful? I ask because I notice crusaders who's shield gives them a +3 invulnerable save lack Shield of Faith so it seemed odd to me that crusaders with there shields wouldn't have Shield of Faith when all members of the Ecclesiarchy with a Rosarius still have SoF.

They would have both. One is better but they still have both. Say one is hit by that special round the grey knight vindicare assassin has that destroys a wargear that provides an invul save. It would destroy the rosarius but then you would still have the save that comes from shield of faith.

Good point. In that case it seems a big oversight to leave Shield of Faith off of the crusaders.
There's also the rumors about 6th that characters can take 2 saves, so they could potentially take 2 invuls if their armor is ignored. Makes sense to leave it off the crusaders in that sense.

I really hope that when/if they put out the actual sisters codex that it gets more than just a what was essentially a quick update and gets a little more depth to it.

You and me both. I think the sisters have so much potential but probably need some serious attention if they want to be on par with someone like the Necrons. Still despite all that, I really want to field at least a small SoB army right now rather then just wait for GW. My friends are usually pretty open to house rules so if they get curb stomped to easily I'm sure they'll drop a few points of a unit or two to even things out.
