Getting started in Flames of War

Post by NZCommando » Fri Jan 07, 2011 4:22 pm

We're looking at Flames of War at the moment.

What would you need (figure wise) to really have a starting army - we're looking at German and Russian forces.

Would a tank and infantry pack "get you started" or would I end up needing a little more?

Honestly your better off going to the Flames of War forum, and asking this there. Plenty of people willing to help you there.
I know you said Russians and Germans but, getting Open Fire! box set will be nice for you, to learn the game. Plus whoever plays Germans will get some Stugs to add to the army. :)
Also would recommend getting a book like Fortress Europe (good generic army list for late war) and of course the rule book. (Open fire comes with a mini one)

one infantry/tank box set wont really be enough. Around three + is what you need for a decent start. Then there are other things to take.

Hope this helps.
May your beard grow ever longer, and your enemies tremble at the sound of your guns.

Cheers - thanks for the info!

I think unlike Warhammer, there's less out there for "starting out with Flames of War".
