I don't see how you can do that without changing the rules for one or the other or both, both games play distinctly different, so it's not really possible, especially since 40k is about shooting primarily and fantasy is combat primarily, how does your store intend to make it possible for the two games to compete with each other let alone hero fighting especially since there is no such thing as a hero in 40k, so are heroes and lords banned? and there is no Lord or Hero category in 40k sooo....

Im quessing some house rules have to be made (like flamers and perhaps melta and/or plasma being flaming attacks and such) but I think its possible... 40k will propably win though (or maybe not)... Lots of big template weapons in 40k with 8-10 strength...

40K is going to win out right here.
Every unit has maneuverability over the formations in fantasy (even against skirmishers). I 40K, there are no armor buffs or debuffs. So, if someone hits my space marine with a strength 5 hit, I still get my 3+ armor save.
If my Catachan guard gets hit by a direct hit from a catapult, I can just pin myself go to ground for the 6+ cover save. It's not like a guard on foot should be moving anyway.
Oh, and 40K has tanks like there is no tomorrow. I can assault any horde unit in fantasy with my Black Templar assault terminators and win, losing maybe one terminator. Why? 20-40 preferred enemy attacks, re-rolling failed to-wound rolls, and it's a power weapon with furious charge. (Lightning claws)
I'm sorry but this will really be an unbalance fight. Technology is the key to our destruction. It's not that we have gotten better at fighting. It's not that there are more of us. The creation of the sword made the man big. But when the gun came along, he grew even bigger.
Black Templars: 5000 W-T-L: 32-8-9 Lizardmen 3500 W-T-L: 11-0-3 Necrons: 3000 W-T-L: 10-3-6 "We play by Texas Warhammer 40K rules. The only rule is to know the rules."
Sounds fun, they probably will make the fantasy formations have the options of being skirmishers and will probably take general rules from shooting in 40k and combat in fantasy.
Fantasy and 40k are not TOO different on a basic level. The biggest differences are the more specific rules.

but if the pen is mightier then the sword... then what would be the size diffrence?

Whoever fields an IG army will wipe the floor with almost any fantasy army. All those blast weapons, flamers...and the big large blast ordnance weapons will just obliterate things.
Every tank shot will go something like this:
1) Target the model in the very center of the 25 man unit 2) Roll a HIT 3) Lay the PIE PLATE OF DOOM and discover it covers the entire unit since they're so nicely packed together. 4) 25 S8 hits vs T3 models = 22ish wounds with AP3 = 22 dead infantry.
Don't get me wrong, I think it's an intriguing idea. But I suspect it will be very one-sided in terms of which forces will win.

Ribbons Earned:
Sadly in Fantasy AP3 means nothing. The S8 means that the best possible save (1+) turns to a 5+ armor save with the usual character having some kind of ward save. Even Empire Knights would drop quickly due to lack of ward save. The problem would be firring at units with Regeneration. So thats a 4+ save you can't negate.

Even with a 4+ save that can't be negated, that would inflict 11 wounds from my example with a single tank shot. I'm not sure how morale works in Fantasy, but in 40k rules that's a morale test just to stop your men from running like little girls.
So the question becomes - how many battle tanks can you field in this match? lol

Well, that depends on which force organization you use.
Do you use two separate Force Orgs? Have fantasy use the percentile and 40k use the standard? Or, will one of the armies convert to the other force org?
