Painting Sylvaneth Help

Post by Otamo7 » Mon Jul 31, 2017 2:04 pm

I have a Sylvaneth army that i have yet to paint. I want to paint them as the Heartwood Clan, i love the warscroll battalion rules these guys have, but I am unable to find any guides or advice on how to paint these kind of Sylvaneth. If anyone has advice, would be awesome.

The "How to Paint Citadel Miniatures: Sylvaneth" guide has details on how to do it. The short version (going on the assumption that you don't have this little book) is the following:

  • Undercoat:
    • Corax White
  • Base Coat:
    • Dark Bark - Rhinox Hide
    • Hair - Stegadon Scale Green
    • Leaves, Eyes, and Glow - Caliban Green
    • Gold - Balthasar Gold
  • Shade:
    • Dark Bark, Skin, and Gold - Agrax Earthshade
    • Leaves and Light Bark - Biel-tan Green
  • Glaze:
    • Blade - Waywatcher Green
Then choose either of the following:
  • Drybrush:
    • Skin - Wrack White
    • Hair - Imrik Blue
    • Leaves - Niblet Green
    • Dark Bark - Sylvaneth Bark
    • Gold - Necron Compound
    • Blade - Parexeti White
  • Layer:
    • Skin - Palid Wych Flesh
    • Hair - Temple Guard Blue
    • Eyes and Glow - Moot Green
    • Leaves -Warpstone Glow
    • Light and Dark Bark - Karak Stone
    • Gold - Runefang Steel
    • Blade - White Scar
The book features these details using a Tree-revenant as the example to follow along with, but you should be able to improvise easily enough for the rest of the army too.

I hope this helped. Happy painting! (I'd love to see how it all turns out!)
