Victory the the Forces of Man!

To all loyal to the Emporer, Operation Silent Edge was a success. Due to the brave efforts of Colonel Vrackus of the 187th Royal Mechanized Infantry and the backing of the 13th Jusian Drop Infantry, the forces of man were able to stop the vile eldar pirates from raiding the outskirts of our positions.

Remember, even the average guardsman can be a deadly force but when working with your brothers in arms, anything is possible! Ask Sergeant Yuri of the 13th Jusian. Alone his squad of heavy weapons specialists killed a vile "Cronos" and several eldar pirates with missile fire!

Sergeant Joanus of the 187th rallied his men into rank and file to lay down organized fire into the eldar, butchering them where they stood.

But the battle did not come without loss. It is your duty to replenish those ranks citizen! It is your right to serve the Emperor with every waking breath! See your nearest recruitment officer for further details!

Ave Imperator!

Good Job Colonel,

Guard VS DE must have been a mutual bloodbath; and not a single armor save was made that day.

Casualties were pretty light actually for me.

20 wyches killed
1 Cronos killed
2 raiders destroyed
1 venom destroyed
4 incubi killed
1 autarch killed
1 farseer killed

25 guardsmen killed
1 sentinel destroyed
1 chimera destroyed

Seemed like the guy didn't know what cover was! But thanks man! ^_^

Commander Name: Lil'Stompa da Konkerer
Faction: Proppa green Orks
Sub-faction: Goffs
Alliance: CAAI
Planet Targeted: Sub-sector Yina - 612
Game Size Played: 1300 points
Was this a fluffy/thematic list?: Yes, Boys against Horde
Were weather effects used? If so, which one was generated?: We rolled and got Sinkhole.
Were character injuries used?: Yes, Big Mek Skullskrew recovered; Wolf Lord Uril recovered his armor. Painboys are no more since the non-warlord died.
Results: Orks 11 x Space Wolves 4 WAAAGH! Successful
CP Earned: Orks 15; Space Wolves 10

Orks came with 5 full Boys mob with hidden Power Klaw and 2 Painboys. 2 ten men squads of lootas providing covering fire.

SW came with Ulrik; 4 units of Grey hunters in Drop Pods, 2 ten men with 2 meltas/Combi, 2 Power Swords and CCW, and 2 ten men with 2 Flamers/Combi, 2 Power Swords and CCW and a Wolf Standard; and a full unit of 15 Blood Claws with 2 Power Swords and 2 Flamers.

1 objective inside Orks deployment, 2 on the middle and one on the SW deployment zone.

Orks deployed bubble wrapping units, the outermost layer was boys with FnP, the innermost that was Out of Range from the flamers was boys w/o FnP and lootas near the board edge. SW deployed Ulrik with Blood Claws ready to run with them.
We'z gettin' derte, Boss!

Call me Nobz and tell dem ta ready da mobs. We'z da lucky ones today, ladz, cause when we'z take dis rokkitz 'ere we'z be da first to reach da new planetz and 'ave all da loot and da fightin'!

Roight, Boss!
The orks came running from the northern hills nearing the Imperial aircraft bay area. How they manage to find out where it was and how they could to find a weak spot on the perimeter the Imperials didn't knew.

The real problem was that only a group of young Blood Claws arrived on the planet, the rest of the reinforcements was still aboard the SW Battlebarge. Erik, the leader of this Blood Claw unit was eager to prove his units might and face the odds but luckily Ulrik was with them. He quickly called in for emergency reinforcements to defend the base and his brothers heard him making steel rain fall from the sky.

The battle was fierce, with casualties from both sides, but the sheer number of the Orks weighted heavily on the Space Wolves.

Not being able to reach the units providing suppressive on the SW units, they were being picked up one by one, falling for stray bullets and shrapnel blasts all around them.

In the end Ulrik managed to escape the battle on the last functional transport (one objective) with a couple of Blood Claws with him after killing the biggest Painboy on the battle, but that wasn't enought to prevent the orks from overrunning the facility.

Commander Name: Lord of Flies
Faction: Chaos
Subfaction: Daemons
Alliance: Nurgle
Planet Targeted: Chantilix
Game Size Played: 1250 points
Was this a fluffy/thematic list?: Yes
Were weather effects used? If so, which one was generated?: N/A
Were character injuries used?: No
Result: Chaos Daemon Victory
CP Earned: 7

Opposition: Tau

Warlord Traits: Re-roll Warp Storm Table results

Psychic Powers: Iron Arm, Endurance, Hemorrhage, Stream of Corruption on DP. Endurance, Enfeeble, Stream of Corruption on Herald of Nurgle 1, Iron Arm, Hemorrhage, Stream of Corruption on Herald of Nurgle 2.

Intro: Lord Viz'er'ras'put'in sensed the potential for great havoc on the planet of Chantilix and sent the Lord of Flies with a scouting force to the material realm in order to establish his presence. Upon the rift opening a mob of Nurgle daemons and a lone Slaanesh Soul Grinder poured through, establishing their targets among the enemy.

Deployment: 4x4 board. 6 Nurglings and a Nurgle Herald in the ruins by an objective, 14 Plaguebearers and another Nurgle Herald behind a barricade with another objective. Soul Grinder between the two units, 6 Plague Drones deployed on the right of the Plaguebearers with the Nurgle Daemon Prince the Lord of the Flies between them.

On the opposite side, a unit of Broadsides in the corner by the plague drones, the other at the mid point of the back field. Aun'va and bodyguard between the two units. Fusion crisis suit team in cover to start, Riptide close to the center of his deployment. Two units of Kroot, one in a forest on the objective, the other on the far side of the board heading towards the nurglings. A small unit of pathfinders in cover near the second group of Kroot.

Also, two units of 1 piranha each.

Turn 1

Tau steal initiative. Riptide and broadsides take some shots at the daemon prince, who makes his cover saves. Pathfinders only hit one out of 5 shots. Kroot shift forward, Kroot in forest stay put, Second group of broadsides hits the plague drones, dropping one. Crisis suits wound another plague drone.

Soul Grinder moves up towards one piranha, daemon prince jumps up in range of the other, plague drones head towards the riptide. Iron Arm, Endurance (onto the drones) and another Endurance (herald to nurglings). Soul Grinder pens with the flamer, then gets the charge into cc after. DP makes a miracle charge into the other piranha. Both are penned to death.

Turn 2

More drones dropped by tau fire from the crisis suits, riptide, and a broadside group.. Kroot moved up on the flank towards the nurglings, wounding one with shooting. DP takes a wound from one broadside group. Assault phase jumps are short ranged this time.

Daemon Prince heads towards the crisis suits, soul grinders diverts towards the kroot and the 3 surviving drones close within striking distance of the riptide. Same powers go off in the psychic phase. Half the kroot are killed by the flamer and harvester cannon, another 5 die to the cc rampage of the soul grinder. Daemon Prince crashes into the crisis suits, Balesword flashing and reducing them to puddles of plague.

The plague drones get into combat with the riptide, using the plague banner to get the 2+ poisoned attacks. Two attacks from the regular drones were ID (venom sting) and the balesword on the champ was ID as well. Before I rolled up the champ one of the venom stings got through and a 1 was rolled for the Riptide's save! Full wound Riptide to dead.

Turn 3:

Broadsides fire on the plague drones, reducing them to a single model. Kroot in the forest fire on the DP and pull off a wound with sniper rounds.

Soul Grinder moves off to chew up the pathfinders. Daemon Prince traps Aun'va in combat and finishes him off, along with the two guardians. Drones head into a broadside group and lose the last wound in cc!

Turn 4:

Broadsides peel the DP down to one wound, kroot in forest fail to finish him off.

DP smashes into the broadsides and annihilates them in cc with the balesword. Soul grinder heads into the other broadside group and manages to finish them in close combat.

At this point the remaining kroot decided to flee into the forest and abandon the fight. The Tau defense lies in ruins while the Daemons have established their foothold.

I'm just happy that you got some use out of bubble wrapping your forces.
Yes, the win was a combination of bad deployment rolls and bad luck on her part. I think horde wolves are very strong specially when she knows there will be no big blast AP3 around after turn 1 meltas.

Even though it's hard to remove 50 something Space Wolves it's harder to remove 130+ orks that keep on shooting.

++++++++++++++ Transmission: Link Establised; Expedition announcement
++++++++++++++ Angel of Vengeance Cruiser.

Sammael of the Dark angels 2nd Company was thought dead. Ambushed and murdered by an overwhelming chaos force in the Calyx Sector. My brothers, we have waged war across the galaxy to hunt down these heretics and make them repent for turning their back on our Great Emperor! Vengeance for the Lord Sammael!

My brothers; hours ago we had learned a terrible truth regarding our quest. The fallen Farseer Dal'En of a rogue band of Corsairs had informed me that our quest of vengeance for the death of Sammarl would forever go uncompleted. Not because, brothers, that we are weak but because our dead Captain still LIVES! We will lay down our previous quest unfullfiled and take up the mantle of one even greater: we will bring our Lord back and punish those scum that would dare to attempt this outrage!

WE will go to Vana Prime. WE will root out our foe. WE will restore our captain to his rightful glory. AND, my Brothers, WE will have Vengeance.

+++++++ Battle report soon to come.

++ BAO Mission 1: Eternal war.
++ Dawn of War deployment
++ No night Fighting

The chaos forces were dug in deep into the blown out shell of an administrative section of one of the sprawling arms of a nameless hive city on Vana Prime. Not wanting to accidentally harm Sammael; an orbital assault was out of the question. Not even the imperial Guard could be trusted to handle this extraction - Only the Brothers of the Order are worthy to make planetfall.

The cultists, dedicated to the foul god of rot and decay, moaned as they slowly shambled in their makeshift fortification. Led by a festering behemouth in terminator armour and supported by spawn and plague marines they were indeed a formidable force worthy of the Astrates.

Chaos Deployment: Two max size units of zombies. One with Typhus and one with a Lvl 3 Sorc. A squad of 5 spawn. A squad of plague marines, in a havoc rhino hidden behind the building; has a second lvl 3 sorc.

Image

Dark Angel Deployment: Squad of 6 bikes melta, plas. Ravenwing chapter master with 5 knights; apothecary and dakka banner. 5 marines, plasma, rhino. 10 marines, plasma, rhino. Vindicator. Missle land speeder.

Image

Full Table

Image

After Turn 1. The Dark angles swept around the mass of cultists, shot many down with the dakka banner. Spawn came out into the open and were cut down by the plasma talons of the ravenwing knights and the vindicator. Chaos retreats onto objectives.

Image

Turn 2 and three. Dark angels finish sweeping around the flank and create a kill zone. Cultists retreat back into cover; sitting on objectives

Image

Turn 4: Bikes pushing forward. Staying out of charge distance

Image

Turn 5 and 6: Cultists stay on their objectives and in cover. The overwhelming firepower cant budge them. with the 4+ cover and the 5+ FNP.

In the end, The Chaos Player had one scoring objective as did I. I had scored a few more maelstrom points through the course of the game which gave the Dark Angels the victory. No wounds were done to either warlord.

Image

NARRATIVE BIT!

As the last of the rotting cultists were put down a strange gurgling sound emerged from the darkest corners of the cellar in the ruin. The Dark Angel brothers, bolters trained on the sound lest some other foul creature come forth, pulled wooden planks sticky with ichor to reveal a stone doorway. Beyond the revealed doorway lie a sunken altar and seven pots of puss or putrid flesh of varying colours. All Disgusting; even to the Astrates.

On this altar lay a man. Naked and flayed skin swollen with craters of dsease and covered in flies. He was awake and in his eyes was the relentless fervour of a captain of the Dark Angels. Conviction and iron will creased across his face despite the many diseases infesting his body. When he was moved those diseased flowed off of him like a tide and four astrates warriors became ill bearing their lord back to their cruiser and needed to be treated for horrific diseases.

However, despite being released by his captors, the ravages of Sammael's disease continued to vex even the most talented apothecaries and priests. As if it were alive and fighting back. If the apothecaries can not find a solution then Sammael will die.

Maybe the xenos in the sector have some great technology to defeat this disease. Maybe the pirate... Duke Sliscus the Serpent. And what would the serpent ask in return?
