Power Flux - Red/Blue Casual Deck

Let me know what you think of this deck. It's for playing in more of a casual setting with a close group of friends and doesn't adhere to any particular format. I'm not much of a FNM or Tournament gamer we just play for the fun of it in our spare time so keep that in mind.

Needs Niv Mizzet, Dracogenius. That guy is criminally underplayed.

Also needs some Cyclonic Rifts, and maybe some more lands. 20 seems a little light. 22-23 seems like it'd be a bit more stable.

20 lands is fine. He has mostly low drops and ponders+brainstorms act as lands.

I love the mix of legacy staples with some more interesting choices.

Cyclonic rift does muck up most nasty things, though surely red has better board wipes than looking towards blue.

Aetherling is not a fun card. 6 mana means it will be mostly dead then you no longer play magic.

It is really hard to suggest cards without knowing what you are playing against. For example pyroclasm tends to be the best board wipe for modern but then it can be useless against the wrong decks.

Scalding Tarns are really important in this deck. If you can afford 2 then just get another 2.

Yeah I own two Scalding Tarns right now, the intention is to eventually pick up two more though. I was also honestly a little unsure of the 20 lands myself too. As you said Ponder and Brainstorm kind of act as land fixing so I was going to try and run the deck as is and see how it goes but I'm thinking I might want to eventually toss in 2 more land cards, most likely two more scalding tarns when I eventually pick them up.

Thankyou! I play Niv Mizzet myself and he is such a fun but deadly card to play. And would it hurt to add some more red board wipes?

*edit
Sorry, completely missed Mfletch's comment on red board wipes.
