A plain ol' Blink Tusk deck.

This is for discussing anything to do with Wizard's Magic, the Gathering card game.

A plain ol' Blink Tusk deck.

So getting back into my magic after selling pretty much all my Eldar/DE.

Where i play the format is pretty much just modern so i am looking at making a competitive modern Selesnya deck built around the infamous Thrag + Resto combo with a little help from their good friend Trostani.

5 Plains
8 Forest
4 Sunpetal Grove
3 Temple Garden
2 Gavony Township

22 Lands

4 Restoration Angel
4 Thragtusk
2 Armada Wurm
2 Trostani, Selesnya's Voice
4 Birds of Paradise
4 Avacyn's Pilgrim
3 Loxodon Smiter
2 Emancipation Angel

25 Creatures

2 Path to Exile
2 Oblivion Ring
2 Garruk, Primal Hunter
2 Selesnya Charm
3 Congregation at Dawn
2 Rancor

13 Other Spells

Sideboard
2 Cloudshift
2 Path to Exile
1 Oblivion Ring
3 Sundering Growth
1 Sigarda, Host of Herons
3 Call of the Conclave
2 Rancor
1 Akroma's Memorial

15 Sideboard Cards

I have done a bit of solo play testing with this and seems pretty solid. I am uncertain of my sideboard however so much help there would be appreciated.

Do you find the Birds of Paradise to be enough ramp for you to get away with only running 22 lands? I think I'd go with 23-24 lands just because around turns 3+ you don't really want to be using Forests to get down the Birds, but there's no issue with just playing a land.

Between the Pilgrims and birds it is very fast. Unless the opponent is willing to drop his removal on my 1 drops, which is fine with me.

I did test with farseeks but they seemed redundant, still want to test a bit more though.

I do not think that you have basis of a competitive modern deck.
Thragtusk is just not that good.

There are more expensive better mana bases.
Then much better 4 and 5 drops in the format, which happens to be a fast format where 5 drops need to take over the game.

What would you change in the deck?

Is the G/W a poor combo for modern or the style of the deck?
