Rouven got my vote - the skin tone transitions look a bit smoother, although that could just be the photo.

Rouven snatches it by a grots whisker ... the syringes detail was the bit I noticed as well as the skin shading.

if I can ask one thing, is don't lean on the Nuln oil too much, it looks almost drowned in it in places ... but not so bad.

I went with Rouven. I love the syringe fluid detail, different tones in the metals and the contrast in skin tone between the painboy and the grot. I'm not sure I particularly think the Painboy skin tone is for me, it gets bright :)

Sided with Rouven, as his skin tone is much finer than Guildensterns. If it weren't for the skin, the vials would have won my vote anyway. Those are really outstanding!

The vials were what got me.

It was really hard to vote since both were incredibly close in colour choice and painting level. In the end, I felt that Rouven's skin tone and the vials' details were a little bit better done. But if I had to give a grade that would have been not more than a 0.05 advantage for Rouven.

Hi!

Thanks a lot for the positive feedback and constructive comments. It was the first time I painted vials so I'm really pleased that you like them.

I wasn't sure which wash(es) I should use, so I tried to layer different colours. Unfortunately, I didn't dilute the washes and the result was a bit too dark in some places - e.g. around the saw.
Painted in 2018:

Dark Angels: Cypher
