Getting started

Post by sprgus » Sat Apr 02, 2011 10:26 am

Ok I feel like this is one of the best times to start flames of war but I'm trying to decide between the Finns or the americans
Could I get some help of how to begin?

It would be best to ask around your FLGS what era(s) are played the most you don't wanna pick Finns and find out everyone plays Late war. with Americans you do either Mid or Late war so they're the safer bet (plus you get 3 Shermans in the starter set) but ask around your FLGS first.

Finns now have a late war list; however, for just getting started you really should choose US over Finns.

They have many more options, use most of the same equipment across MW and LW and Armoured Rifles provide you with a force that can give a good fight against any force instead of being more specialized on the rock, the paper or the scissors.

I was playing some Finns v Finns today with borrowed models using thier Late War list I believe. They're pretty cool acutally. They can take both StuGGs and T-34. They can also take an ISU I believe. It's a Soviet assault gun that is a StuG on crack. Finns are fun.
