I like how the metallics aren't overly shiny. What did you do to make your base?

I like the base.

I think you should put in highlights, especially on the metal, it is on the flat side, there is no three dimensionality in it. It also looks like you got little messy with the asurman blue. The back part of the Raven, under the wing, you have a large stain of blue. You could try and make that into exhaust or some kind of blast residue.

@bergunder - ive washed it over with badab to tone it back a bit and it looks much less of a stain now and more of just discoloration which is more acceptable methinx, ive also highlighted the red areas so far, and going to tackle the metals tomorrow evening i think.

@BoyMac - Plaster blocks for the most part, i bought a castle building kit at a model show about 4 years ago just for the big sack of about 4000 bricks (and bags of tiles, moulds etc) it works really well for scale and also with a model like the stormraven balance is an issue, and with those blocks on there the base now weighs twice what the model does :) so no falling over.

wow pretty snazzy. them shiny boys.

I think your red and whites could use a couple more coats. but other than that it looks to be a good standard!

The red on the stormraven was Mechrite-Scab-Gore-bloodred/mechrite highlight ... the other two i used baal red wash to bring out the red and ignored the need for so many layers i thought >.<
and it isnt white :P its astronomicon grey.... i can never get white to look good, and i like astro grey.

what i meant was that the colors dont seem flat and evenly applied. Especially in your first pic. Perhaps the picture is misleading..

I like the paint job but I still think the model looks like a flying toaster, although I AM tempted to convert one for a looted tank >_>
