Sheeb's Tau Painting scheme

Post by Sheeb » Sun Apr 27, 2008 12:50 pm

OKay guys so this is where i'm at. I am finally ready to paint these mini's but i would like some input on your end asap.

My Tau are primarily based SKULL WHITE, then DESERT YELLOW, and CATACHAN GREEN.

So I would like it if some one could put together a simple scheme of how i should match up these colours. It was originally just the tan and white, but i bought the green for my Kroot and i liked it so much. Any thoughts? You can add other stuff too, go nuts. I'm going to be fooling around in photoshop today with it.

Here's a picture of a Tau Battle suit, Stealth suit, and gun drone. Which i primed them messesy painted grey for a cupped undercoat but it looked so bad, i'm now scrapping the chipped weather armour look achived witht he laytex. I may still get back to it.

You could make it mostly with the Skull white, with Desert yellow highlights, finally accenting the rest of the model with the Catachan Green. Making it look like a Tau version of the Eldar Biel-tan army.

Check this out for inspiration.
I might not be the best, but I've made who ever is quite nervous.
