Tactical Shields

Think SWAT Team.

A squad could upgrade to tactical shields that provide cover from a single direction. Make them slow moving and have pistols of tactical shields are taken.

Did anyone ever play Army of 2? You can pick up car doors and stuff like that to use as shields. Something like that would be characterful and cool looking.

LOL I love how In movies and games they use car doors as cover

In rl, door vs most guns = fail

It's true. A handgun probably wouldn't go through a car door, but I was shooting my brother's 7mm rifle the other day at a piece of 3/4" steel. The 160 grain bullets went through no problem, and even the 140 grains put a dent the size of a cherry in it.

A specifically designed ballistic shield could add a cover save. +2 base and if you are in cover adds a +1.
Sometimes I play all the Elves. Sometimes I play Eldar or IG. But between school and warhammer, how's a fella supposed to eat?

Carbon-Titanum tower shield with some adition of new materials such as shock absorbing gels in the shield, can provide a nice armour and cover bonus for units carring it, but only from small caliber rounds.
Remember, there is nothing that cannot be penetrated.
Drilling shells, DU shells, White phosphor grenede/shell ... huh... that burns trough anything, goes trough anything... todays tanks have issues with dealing with such rounds.
:)

But!!
Not all infantry has a cannon, DU high caliber rounds, phosphor grenede [which is today forbiden by the UN convention, but in future :D may be used for dirty warfare! ] , etc. etc.

So, i think tower shields/tactical shields are good idea for charging units or some kind of specialists, as somebody said SWAT team.
I was thinking more of, SWAT team with high voltage electrical shockers and hand-guns, chainsaws may be used too [but small one hand versions] or plasma cutters [ it's a device that generates a string like beam of plasma, or string like laser beam which cuts trough anything and some stuff like that are used today in industry for fast cutting of metals ]
You primitives think you own the stars but you have no conception of what you are saying. You can barely command your own lumpen bodies, so how do you believe that you can subjugate entire worlds?
