I think that they should have differnet scopes.
Lets say there are 3 types of scopes
(Obv. differnet names and numbers but)
Small- Increases acuarcy/hits by 2 and range by 5"
Medium- Increases acuarcy/hits by 5 and range by 8"
Large- Increases acuarcy/hit by 8 and range by 11"

Also there will be more rules to it but this is the basics

how do you like it?

This could be a good way to even out sniper's kill-y-ness and give them their hard to hit-y-ness.

Have each scope effective for a 10" range but nothing more. This allows units to bypass or counter snipers' effects easier. It won't be easy, but it won't be impossible anymore.

It might not work on all weapons.

A scope on a machine gun, that would work :wink:
The pen is mightier than the sword...and a lot easier to write with.

TBH, this seems like kind of a mundane little peice of wargear that would just cause confusion durring games.

Perhaps a different sniper rifle altogether instead of different scopes?

well i was thinking..and for certin factions they could have upgrades..it will be called scopes..or something like that..and it will go on sniper rifles

With different rifles you could have more feasible changes than just the optics.

it really could be something as simple as:

Squad takes scopes for 2 points a piece and between 12" and 24" you difficulty to hit is reduced by 1
