I get what you're saying. I think it would be cool to have an army that plays like a spartan army should, but I don't think it should be a spartan army. If that makes any sense.

Fuse, maybe this army could be more along the lines of extremely good combat skills, next to no armor, some sort of terror causing ability, high leadership, having their 'shield' brought to bear, and very high point cost
i agree with everything but the armor. these guys should be ultimate TANKS with no range at all like no ranged weps, be close to impossible to kill and be wonderous at CC

Spartans had really good shields made of bronze that were proved on Deadliest warriors to stand hits from super sharp steel. That would be their amazing aromor. They were trained under the most intense and ruthless conditions to become CC GODS. They were very hardy and increadibly spirited giving them amazing strenth. They did have javelines but weren't that accurate because of how heavy everything else was. Their biggest flaw was their numbers. The Spartans, although rivals with Athens, depended on Athens numbers alot.
My idea is that this faction have the Spartan section, incredible soldiers at a hefty price, and the Athenien section with lots of cheap troops good at range.
