If you have read what Matt has told about them, they are not mages, nor are they druids.

They are native tribes that has found a "shirne" with gifts from the gods. They have no magic, they just think that they have magic stuff.

I've updated the rules with some clarifications, and with a new section so that you can create your own armies in our 3 factions.

I have also fleshed out 3 potential factions.

I would like to see somebody "break" the system by trying to make a "cheese" army. In order to prove it is a "cheese" army you'll need to test it out on at least 3-4 games.

Have fun play testing!

Yes, cheese means that it is unbalanced, even though it follows the rules.

I want to eliminate as much of that as possible, allowing almost any configuration of any army to be able to win (within reason, you'll still need to use a bit of intelligence when building your army).

They're not "Space Marines" by any stretch - they're just slightly better equipped and trained than the average fighter... think of them as the remains of previous government armies, still working to try and protect their nations - or what are left of them.

Also, The Shield != S.H.I.E.L.D., just to clear that up :)

Can you throw up descriptions of the three factions? Short summaries and stories that would help everyone understand each ones motives/goals/look and design? It would make people more interested in choosing their factions.

p.s. What if I made a literal cheese army?

If you do, I hope you replace your Minis every week or two, or they'd go bad ;)

i read through the rules three times and read the faction rules, but cant find anything about squad sizes, anyone know where it is? miniwargaming may need to formally set up some sizes for the units if they didnt already

Well remember that this game is still in it's beta-beta versions, they're just getting the rules out.

On that note: I'd like to see this game as kind of more a skirmish game allowing more of a Necromunda feel with men working on their own in a large skirmished formation instead of small concentrated points on the board.

It's in the rules in Section 9.

just spit balling a cheese list how does this sound:

shoty spam (knockback)
4 quellers w/ shoty*as many as possible
sniper *2
leader w/ gauss rifle

this list i designed to abuse knock back to control enemy (not sure how good this one is)

cloak spam
shaman
3*warriors/ throwers* Minium
stalker*rest of points

this one depends on point size heavily, kinda like 2 LR 10 PAGK grey knight list, but the point is to abuse stealth to minize need of cover while the rest of the provides numbers

again this is just speculation and i need to do some play testing
