DracoAvian's Human Terrain

Postby DracoAvian » Sun May 27, 2012 1:25 pm

This is going to be the MASTER THREAD for all my human encampment themed terrain. One of my friends just started up a small Empire force, and I figured human buildings would be an easier place than elven buildings to start making more terrain. So far it's pretty fun!

I've been looking at old German-style Middle Age and Renaissance architecture. The concept art seems to agree with the Empire models.

I have just started the stable for this month's terrain contest. I'm not sure if I want the fencing around the pens to be vertical or horizontal. I guess we'll find out when we get there!

>>> Future concept art is to be posted here with descriptions as well. <<<
Sometimes I play all the Elves. Sometimes I play Eldar or IG. But between school and warhammer, how's a fella supposed to eat?

This post will cover the construction of the house style buildings.

I did not take pictures of the first part of this batch, but I will rectify this mistake with pictures of the next batch.

Here is how they look after being cut out, glued together, spackled, sanded, roofed, and had the exterior beams glued in place. Don't worry! I'll fix the gaps in between the beams as soon as they are good and dry.

Here is the start of the stable I'll be submitting to the competition. Expect the fencing of the pens to change. Also expect to see plenty of hay, maybe a bag of oats, and a small rack of tools or equipment. This is the standard short house which will be the cornerstone of the workshops, blacksmiths, stables, or other miscellaneous structures.

This one has just been glued together. It takes a little while for the glue to dry, and then to spackle and sand it. The next picture will be after the sanding and roofing and siding.
