yea your right percentages have nothing to do with statistics.

So what would you base your percentages on... weight of the parts, number of pieces, or decide what percentage of the terrain you used sprues one completely in your head.

@dragonianwolf - I actually like the idea of all sprues, have lots laying around, with some work you could make the crystaline entity, or the iron framework for a building.

chill wiz. percentage may not have been the right word. let's say "a bunch of sprues" instead.

working on the current GB i had an idea for a future one. A piece of terrain that can double as a piece of costume for Halloween. The fact that my altar looks kind of like a whfb chaos shield inspired that.

How about a repair shop theme? It could be a mek shop, destroyed manufactorum, anything like that.

What about some form of Defence System. Be it a wall, a sentry tower, a turret, a booby trap even.
I feel like my one ribbon really represents who I am as a person...

this. or a diorama where its a building with two or more models (statues) dueling it out sorta like an epic battle/last stand recreated in stone or metal.

Oh yes. We really should. And it's even better because we all need them eventually.

I like this idea, but being strapped for cash right now I can't really afford to 'waste' models on a terrain piece. It is a cool idea, and I would like to do something like this eventually, but I'm sure I'm not the only person who can't really sacrifice any models for this idea. I could always simply not participate, but I think this idea would drastically thin the field of people who could do it. Of course if it wasn't necessarily models...
Still a 'monument' could probably be done by most anyone.

Also I have another group build idea. along side the regular monthlies what about an Epic Group Build consisting of several linked projects over several months, like say a monument, a piece of dangerous terrain, and some objective markers that all go together, each done in consecutive months, culminating in their own Epic Group Build badge. It wouldn't necessarily have to be that stuff, that was just an example.
On top of that, they would each have specific criteria like a container used for the monument, sprues for the dangerous terrain, and paint bottles for the objective markers.
I'm sure Blue can figure something out.

I had this idea a few days ago...

what about terrain for an army that you don't collect? Think about it. You could...

-Make a birthday present for a friend's army!
-Prep some terrain for your local gaming club!
-Give a gift to that significant wargaming other!
-Challenge yourself to make terrain for an army you may start sometime soon(perfect for those considering WarmaHordes following the GW price hike)!

The possibilities are endless...except now I'm out of ideas :?
Fantasy
Throng of Karak Hirn: 1750 points
Men of the Ostermark: 2000 points
Orcs: 2000 points
Tzeentch WoC: 1500 points

40k
Space Wolves: 2000 points
The Irongrad Renegade Alliance: 1250
Mordian 81st: 1000 points
Orks: 1250 points

So I was driving to my local dollar store to pick up a few things and saw my box of magic cards in the back seat, and I thought.... A group build where the terrain is some form of terrain in the background of a playing card game card. It could be magic, pokemon, yu-gi-oh, ect. doesn't matter as long as you can show a card that the terrain was made from.

Just an idea let me know what you think.

How about terrain that resembles some real life object?
Example: Terrain resembling a pizza >> a round minefield with mines scattered around like pepperoni with some haywire pepper in between.

SO: Terrain resembling a food

I am going to sound a bit strange to you wargamers out there, but since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 came out not long ago, why not tribute something to those 10 magnificent years of the films actually being put together? Something related to the "magical/wizarding" worlds?

To some of you older people out there it might just sound lame and all that, to those younger ones who don't like HP would probs flame me, but for me growing up with that whole series and now it ending i'd just like to tribute it ><!

How about an extended group build on a table? more like 3 months rather than one?? As tables (depending on how detailed they are) can take a lot longer.
40k
Chaos Marines 2500pts 100% painted
Necrons 1500pts 100% painted
Chaos Daemons 2200pts 50-60% painted (and still getting more)

Fantasy
Warriors of Chaos 3500pts 90% painted (taken a break)
