Future terrain sets to come?

Post by Jombo » Mon Jun 08, 2009 7:52 pm

So, with the release of the bastion, I noticed something. I was looking through the rule book, and what do I see but the exact bastion which was just released. This sparks my interest, and in the surrounding pages, I find plenty of terrain that looks like it could be plastic sets.

Here are some examples:

(Sorry about all the writing on that one, seems they don't want to give away too much on the coolest looking one!)

I definitely think that that last one is a possibility. I would be more sure about that if I could see some color pictures of it though.

But you are right about the bastion being there before (was it originally scratchbuilt???) so I would say that the 1rst and the last pics could be real possibilitys for new kits..

The last one is also in the Games Workshop book: "How to make wargames terrain".
It's in a turquoise/gold color scheme.

Darn, I guess I'm probably wrong. Oh well. I just thought it might be true because the bastion was in there. 8)

The Orkish one looked to be scratch built to me in the rulebook. Several parts appear to have been made from straight unadulterated corrigated cardboard.

The big fortress was built out of modified Cities of Death parts as well as various tank kits for weapons. I remember it being used as a backdrop in a White Dwarf back around the time of the Dark Angel's Codex release.

The last was a Witch Hunters shrine made for that's codex's release. The side panels are made from some necromundia terrain sprues and the iron work on the edges of the roof are taken directly off the SoB Immolator Sprue.

However the bastion was used in the 5th Rules and appears to have existed atleast as a prototype at the time of it's publishing.

If you look at the Cities of Death rule book there are several CoD style building tiles which never got released. I asked them about it back at the time hoping they were from a yet to be released building set, but they explained that they were actually just prototypes that weren't going to be released.

They have about the same building in my GW store as the one in picture 2.
And as evry one says it look like it has been made off cities off death kits.
The only big diffrence is that it don't have the misile launchers
