The Shield - More information?

Post by Infardi » Sat Jun 06, 2009 4:01 pm

Hey, I am interested in doing some art for the Shield faction. But i would like to have some more background or atleast a little blurb about their general visage and/or their ways of acting. Once this is attained i can make logical decisions about what they are supposed to be like.

Thanks, Infardi.

Well my vision of them is they are noble and kind to those they protect, but will act savage and brutal to anyone who dares threaten them.

They'd probably be wearing old flack jackets or bits of metal strapped to their bodies as makeshift armor. Maybe some dog tags.

cause of their higher armour, their slightly better weaponry... i see them as a remnance of modern military of places like USA. maybe a bit more WW2 with the rifles and doesn't seem like this game is suppose to be real high tech... but they make me think of a guardsmen from warhammer 40k.

I would say they are closer to guardsmen than space marines. A +2 armour is not a huge amount, but it is better than the +1 or 0 that other factions have.

Power armour would be more like a +3 or +4 armour.

Ugh, that would be the elite i would say fluff wise. I mean recovering technology is great and all but it's probably near impossible to replicate it, and only the elite of the army would use that. Also they are said to be the peacemakers, so therefore i think they would be more of a tactical warriors than profesionall soldiers. Maybe a large array of stun or suppressive firepower?

I kind of see them as either the Police in residential areas and then in the outer limits of cities they're left of military.

They're from Pig Iron miniatures... not for any game specifically... I've seen them used as Tau Human Auxilliaries though :)
