Not really an Acronym but "Harbringer of Guffaws" is commonly used to make fun of people calling the Harbinger of Menoth the "Harbringer."

Seen on Privateer's Menoth forums alot. First time I saw it I realized that I wasn't pronouncing or writing her name correctly, Oops.

AOE - Area of Effect: Used in spells and attacks, shows the diameter of the blast that the attack causes.
ARM - Armor: A model's level of protection from damage of a successful attack.
DEF - Defense: A model's ability to be hit by an attack
LOS - Line of Sight: Used for all attacks. LOS is needed to target a model. Often, without the word target, LOS is not needed.

RNG - Range: The effective distance for a ranged attack.
ROF - Rate of Fire: The number of shots a ranged attack weapon can make. Note that Warcasters, Warlocks, Warjacks, and Warbeasts with a ROF greater than one must pay a focus/fury to make additional ranged attacks, unless otherwise stated on the card.
SPD - Speed: A model's rate of movement
STR - Strength: A model's strength

I learned two things from this, 1st is to play games in the morning, you have more time and are less rushed. 2nd is, if you want to succeed, set fire to your opponent's army

These aren't really acronyms but some interesting terminologies in my experiences.

BMANs = "Big Mean And Nasties" which is generally any heavy warjack.
DDRs = "Damn Dirty Russians" which is any Khador Army
CRA = Combined ranged attack
Denny or DeeDee = Cryxian Warwitch Deneghra
Zeus = Cygnar Commander Nemo
Vicky = Cygnar Captain Victoria Haley
Mr. T = Cygnar Markus Brisbane
Junior = Journeyman Warcaster
Cortex Eaters = Any model that affects a warjack's cortex. (Cygnar Lancers)
Zapper = Any Cygnar model with electrical damage types
Firestarter = Protectorate Warcaster Feora
Boomer = Any Artillery cannon crew
Boomhauer = Boomhowler and Co. (Obvious King of the Hill reference)
BLT = Bane Lord Tartarus aka "That other bastard"
Conscripts = Khadorian Winter Guard
CFs = Models with Cover Fire
TBM = "That Big Mofo" Khador Behemoth
Chicken Hawks = Cryxian Bonejacks
NTB = "Not that Bastard" Khadorian Warcaster Karchev the Terrible
"Cryx puts me in the mood. Deneghra is like my wife and Skarr is like my ex. It just depends which one ends up calling me at the end of the day."
"Riiight. So, ever considered Cygnar?"

I know im late, but if acronyms or basic rules/attacks is hard to remember, download the app "iBodger" from Android market.

Its by far the best wargaming app for Warmachine/Hordes. It lets you:

Make lineups with point counter.

Explains acronyms, attacks and rules.

Links to Battle Collage, if you want info about a specific model.

And its free! Go ahead and try it.

Not an acronym, but confusing to this newbie so it might be useful to have here... what is a "Classic" model? My best guess is that "classic" is PP's tag for "metal".

It refers to a previous sculpt of the same model, mostly for models that have been around since almost forever. The give them a makeover and push the old sculpt out of production, which is why you see alot of metal->resin transitions as well
