Hmm, not that impressed after a first glance. Escort seems to be tailored for shredder use, windwall seems a bit expensive. Excellent speed tho .. combined with the huge base the trample attacks can be devastating. But being stuck a the frontline afterwards .. I dunno...

Eh?

WW on a huge base? Which can be cast free with Blood Boon. Expensive?...

Feat just shy of Hailey's.

Effective SPD 8 Scytheans.

I am impressed.

Granted, I didn't think of bloodboon when considering WW.

But still, for me it seems like she will have a huge target sign painted all over her once she gets to the frontlines

bye bye money
I fall into a dark hole
And I can't come out
Do you know if Merlin did exist
Or Frodo wore the ring
Did Corum kill the gods
Or where's the wonderland
Which young Alice had seen
Or was it just a dream
I knew the answers
Now they're lost for me

LOL bye bye money.

Yeah, she's a big target. Feat should mitigate that. DEF not an attrition warlock though...

So don't put her on the frontlines? She's speed 9 (11 with escort? can't remember if it's battlegroup or warnouns in battle group) with the capablilty to make ride by attacks. If she's on the front lines you're doing it wrong ;)

But where else do you want a huge based model to be? Especially one thats about equally focussed on melee attacks as on ranged ones. No, if I want my caster to stay back and do some occasional shooting and/or spell slinging, I'd go for one of her previous incarnations

Park her behind another huge base, like an Archangel!! Escort makes its ride by attacks a little sexier too.

It will probably be some months before she hits the shelves. So far, she isn't listed on any release schedule covering up to April, so May would be the earliest. But I wouldn't count on that either, probably more like June/July

I'm not impressed. I've got a big list of reasons why:
-She's on a sled pulled by reindeer? Even if the rules were great, I don't think I could put a model like that on the table and feel good about myself.
-No MAT/RAT/Damage buffs means she'll rely heavily on BFS, Naga or lots of boosting to up damage output to acceptable levels.
-5 Fury means you'll need to bring along a lot of Shepherds and Forsaken. Also, small control area, very fast model (and equally fast beasts with Escort up), so you'll have the very real threat of running your beasts outside of her control area, unless you play her rather aggressively.
-Being a Huge base model, she's going to be an easy target, and WW doesn't protect from spells or magical ranged attacks, so you're going to want to camp a few Fury on her each turn for transfers. This is fairly easy with Blood Boon, but gives you the problem of relying even more heavily on fury management pieces.
-WW can create an order of activation nightmare if you plan on bringing along Ravagores, or any ranged unit really, if you want them to benefit from WW.
-Power Attack Trample is cool, but remember you need to be able to place that entire Huge base somewhere past the guys you're Trampling. Good luck with that. Her base is about 5", which means you can really only trample if the furtherest guy you're running over is 7" away from your starting location, and then she's stuck alone on the far side of the enemy army.
-Being Huge, she's hard to cover. Even if you do screen her excellently, a few Gallows, Telekinesis or shots at the screen will make it very easy to open up charge lanes.
-Weapon Platform and low Fury gives the impression that you're going to want her in the thick of things, throwing out melee and ranged attacks all over the place. But really, her only hope of survival is staying back far enough to avoid charges and putting up WW to save her from shooting. With pThagrosh-esque defensive stats, she won't be hard to bring down if you get careless (escort helps, but not enough).
-People have been arguing that Escort makes the Arch Angel much better, but really, it offeres just as much to all our other beasts, and I'd much rather take a SPD8 Carnivean and Scythean, or an Angelius, Scythean and Shredder.
-Did I mention she's on a sled, pulled by freakin' reindeer?

Her only strength is in the Feat, allowing two turns of Alpha is you pull it off right, and Scenario, where she can ride-by up, Repluse, move up some more, and Repluse again to absolutely dominate a zone. Combine the two, along with some slams or throws to add KD into the mix, and you have the only place where she really excels... That one turn where she sits in a zone and can't be retaliated against.

I definitely think she will cater more to assassinating rather then attrition.
