Anyone make some sort of SoB team up squad yet? What options have you explored?
I was thinking of making a Dark Angel/SoB army running Deathwing to give a maximum number of terminators (1 elite, 2 troops) to make up for the sister's extremely work CC and elite slots. I plan to give the line up a try vs Blood Angels this weekend.
Most people I've talked with seem to plan on using Imperial Guard due to their battle brother status, and that might be the best way to go, but I personally prefer to keep my whole army in power armor. Plus I'm thinking ranks of terminators in front of my sisters will go a long way to keeping them alive into bolter and melta range where the sisters can work their magic.
I'm debating using Seraphim in my fast attack slots to back up terminators so they don't get stuck tied up in CC with some fearless unit and can hopefully keep free to protect the sisters from getting dragged into CC.
Naturally I'll be bringing along Celestine, Jacobi-Cult combo and Exorcists but this is just an experimentaly list on my part.
Anyone else have a ally combo they are anxious to try out or have played with already?
Due to the changes to snipers I was considering a space marine ally and taking some scouts. The other option is Blood Angels and taking some Jump Pack assault marines, I could see them working quite well alongside Seraphim.
Ill be fielding the old 9 Penitent Engine list with Rhino screen and Grey Knight Grand Master to make them either scoring or to outflank them. He'll be riding in a Stormraven to tackle any flyers on the board.
Changes to Rage, the vehicle damage chart (of which we ignore results 1-3) and needing only 25% coverage for cover means these bad boys are just that little bit more awesome. With 3 hull points each they'll need some serious mass glancing to put a dent in them. My 1750pts list will have 36 hull points total.
While it's not a power combo but I'd love to add a deathstrike missle to my sisters list. Just something about getting one of those to launch puts a smile on my face.
Knive, deathwing termies are ONLY troop choice if you take belial. So no elite slot of termies. Sry to break it to ya.
Even if that is the case it hardly matters, there are plenty of solid choices in the elite section regardless and over 2000 points you get double force org so I could still take 4 terminators that way if I so chose.
Actually though I got a look at the grey knights codex over the weekend and the appeal of having two resurrection units on the board together is making me thinking GKs might work even better than DAs as an ally.
Nothing is wrong with that as long as you are sure you can consistently run a strategy that keep them from wasting turns bickering. I don't think many people have explored Xeno allies yet due to the disadvantages of desperate allies.
I've wanted to try running eldar with Snipers (so they can sit back around an HQ away from the sisters) to scramble enemy psychic tests while the sisters do the grunt work but none of the people I play regularly use many psychics.
I don't own a DE codex though so I'm not sure what they would bring to the table. What sort of units would you want to bring with the sisters to perform this alpha strike?
In general I think battle brothers are the only worth while allies. Otherwise you try to patch SoB you'll realise that you lack everything and should just get another codex

My plan at this stage for Allies is to wait for some plastic Sisters to be released (and no doubt a codex at the same time) and then take some space marine allies but convert them to look like sisters.

Dont know if it has been said...but that is wrong.
Belial allows you to take Terminators as troops, but you still retain the option to take them as elites...it is actually pretty clear in his description.

In general you are better off modding a female model to look like a space marine (or just painting space marine's with the sister's color scheme.) rather then going the other way around in my admittedly limited experience.

I did think about that but I thought they didn't look bulky enough for a power armor unit next to the heavily armored Battle Sisters. The approach I've been considering currently ordering some SM bits and using the Female Nova Corp figure from Reaper as a base and using green stuff to expand on the armor.

The problem with this line of thought is that ones codex is usually properly balanced within itself to adequately make up for whatever weaknesses it has already. Going outside of your own codex incurs an additional tax or inefficiency commonly associated with HQ's, and the limits on specialist FOC's make getting any real amount of anything difficult with anything other than IG and their squadrons and platoons.
